04.12.13 | My favourites are the softer tracks, Come As You Are, Something in the Way, Heart-Shaped Box, All Apologies, etc.
In Bloom is probst up there too, and You Know You're Right. |
BigPleb
04.12.13 | Nirvana were at their best when they rocked out.
They were the most 'important' band to me when I was growing up, opened me up to a lot. |
Aids
04.12.13 | I never got that into them as it's pretty easy to discover better bands once you've broken your teeth with Nirvana, so I never really overplayed any of their songs. |
BigPleb
04.12.13 | I listen to them every day pretty much.
In Utero is one of them albums I jam at least once a week. |
zakalwe
04.12.13 | I was a few months away from turning 13 when buying jeans at a store in 1992. Metal just seemed like a bad novelty act, chart music was dire, my collection of music stood at a few compilation tapes and The KLFs' White Room (which I love) my attention was drawn to a video wall that was playing Lithium. I stood transfixed my mind was blown, the doors were opened.
The impact this band had on me was absolutely monumental.

ButteryBiscuitBass
04.12.13 | Pretty much the same story Zakalwe apart from it was 2000 and I was 12. |
zakalwe
04.12.13 | Christ I feel old but that day has stayed with me as it was the turning point where music went beyond enjoyment of a good tune. |
BigPleb
04.12.13 | I was listening to RHCP when I was younger. |
zakalwe
04.12.13 | Yep Blood Sugar Sex Magic, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Dino Jr, Smashing Pumpkins all that was to follow in the next few months. Without looking through rose tinted specs they were honestly fucking great days. |
zombi666
04.12.13 | I was about the same age, on holiday in Wales in the rain and heard Lithium on the radio, that song was a massive influence on my musical taste from that moment on, I'm on massive 90s kick right now, I have been jamming Alice In Chains, Dirt all day today. |
SupercolliderMusic
04.12.13 | Pretty much the same story as Zakalwe apart from the fact I was 10 in 2006... |

04.12.13 | some pretty good picks, best nirvana is definitely the noisier, rockin stuff like bleach. popular overemphasis on mtv unplugged
and ballads makes it look like cobain only made sad bastard music |
BigPleb
04.12.13 | Unplugged is amazing but yeah, the misconceptions bug me. |
DrGonzo1937
04.12.13 | Nice list. Milk it m/ |
porch
04.12.13 | i like the bowie and leadbelly covers but if i listened to unplugged again i'd probably just want to put on meat puppets II |
