03.07.13 | try updating it? |
Devastator
03.07.13 | It's updated and ive restarted it like 6 times. |
Vakarian12
03.07.13 | restore factory settings? |
DrMaximus
03.07.13 | Restore it in iTunes. |
Dryden
03.07.13 | its broke youre fucked |
Willie
03.07.13 | Put your headphones in the slot and then pull them back out again. Seriously. |
Devastator
03.07.13 | Ive done that, the headphones are fixed I think but when I pull them out the ipod doesn't register that the buds are gone and keeps playing. |
Willie
03.07.13 | Next: Settings, General, Home, iPod Controls (ON)) to show the volume control.
|
Acrosstheshield13
03.07.13 | i'd try factory reset, and what Willie said. ipods can be really fuckity. |
Willie
03.07.13 | Next: try cleaning out the dock area and headphone area. If nothing else, try to blow it out. |
StallionMang
03.07.13 | Honestly, just find an Apple Store and bring it in to the Genius Bar. If you're a valued customer, they'll probably just give
you a new one for free. I've had problems with two different iPods, and got both replaced. |
Devastator
03.07.13 | Im still trying to get the speaker to work. |
savagecabbage
03.07.13 | applestore is a good bet |
Willie
03.07.13 | Did you try cleaning the dock and headphone area. At least blow it out. Then Plug the dock cable in and pull it out. Same with headphone jack. |
Devastator
03.07.13 | Ill try |
StallionMang
03.07.13 | For a temporary fix, try plugging the jack with aluminum foil. It sounds crazy, but the foil actually conducts the electricity really well (or something like that). Try it, but if that stops working, don't keep plugging the jack, just take it in to the store. |
Aids
03.07.13 | it is an iPod touch or whatever with volume buttons on the side? if it is, then one of your buttons is fucked, probably the down one. same thing happened to mine. |
nononsense
03.07.13 | Sounds like its time for a new iPod. |
Gnocchi
03.07.13 | Swap dude, take it from me ; ) |

03.07.13 | Ipod Classic is my personal faIvorite. I just hold my entire library there. Anyone else have one? |
Willie
03.07.13 | Yep. It's the only one that works for all my music. |
Gnocchi
03.07.13 | I classic, but i need to swap my music around, way not big enough. |
MAXisMEDIOCRE
03.07.13 | Hey Jacob below me |
StallionMang
03.07.13 | I love my iPod Classic, but it has like an internal hard drive or something that the rest don't have, which makes it like a mini computer. So you can't jar it at all, and if you drop it, it could break, and you've just wasted $250. I keep mine on my speaker dock at all times. |
omnipanzer
03.07.13 | you'll need to do a wipe, if that doesn't fix it you can get a new ear jack for next to nothing on amazon and it usually comes with the tools you'll need. Watch a video on how to open the case before you attempt anything. If it still doesn't work then it's the logic bored and the last time I checked they were outrageously priced. You could probably buy a used one with a broken screen for parts though. |
KILL
03.07.13 | ipods suck |
omnipanzer
03.07.13 | @StallionMang, yah as far as I know all Classics have an actual HDD in them and no you don't want to drop them. The earlier ones had a 1.8" but not sure about the later ones. They are way cheaper and until recently had much higher capacity than solid state memory. You can replace them pretty cheaply these days and if you have the lower capacity model you can even upgrade it if you want to. |
StallionMang
03.07.13 | Yeah, I got a fairly recent one. You'd think they'd have found a way to fix that problem by now. I may upgrade. |
NorwichScene
03.07.13 | I dropped my mp3 player down the stairs at work, headphones came out and work colleagues heard my metal music as loud speaker came on lol.
It now skips songs when I try to turn the volume up and sometimes plays random albums when I didn't even press that button. I need to upgrade mine anyway |
Emyay
03.07.13 | ipod classic 160 gb. love it so much. absolutely perfect for my needs. never been happier with a purchase. that being said, hope you get your shit fixed Devastator. i dropped my old ipod in the toilet while i was shitting once. it still worked but it was screwy. then it got stolen. lol |
Vakarian12
03.07.13 | damn why does everyone have 80-160gb ipods? I'm still stuck with my plebian 8gb |
omnipanzer
03.07.13 | I had a 30gb 5th gen ipod video I used for years. I replaced everything in it except the logic board multiple times and it always just ran like a fucking truck. I'd probably have a classic now if it were not for my galaxy S3 and Google music but single purpose music players are pretty defunct for me at this point. Hell I use old phones just for podcasts now. |
DeadToPain
03.07.13 | I regret trading my old 80 gig in for a 1st gen touch (when it first came out). I spend more time trying to figure out what to put on the damn thing because I've only got 16 gig to work with. Once I figure it out, it's plenty of music, I just hate having to narrow stuff down, I'm too fickle. Although having MOG on my phone has eased the problem since I can download and change what I have on the fly. As for your situation, just go to Apple Store so you don't fuck anything up. They generally will just swap it out for you. |
omnipanzer
03.07.13 | "I've only got 16 gig"
Shit, you got the expensive one bro. |
omnipanzer
03.07.13 | What is MOG? |
DeadToPain
03.07.13 | MOG is sorta like Spotify, a music streaming service with a mobile app for Android and iOS. Always 320 kbps, so the quality is better. The mobile download process is much better as well. It's the same price a month, but the catalog is a bit smaller (not by too much though, there's only a few things I haven't found). Trent Reznor holds some position and it should be re-branded as Daisy by mid to late '13. It has a pretty good algorithm for recommending music already, but he's working to make it even better. Totally worth the ten bucks a month. |

Keyblade
03.09.13 | might upgrade to an iPod classic. right now I use my 32 GB android phone and it's hard man. but PlayerPro is so awesome I dunno how I'm going to get used to the iPod ui |
Gnocchi
03.09.13 | Do they make it bigger than 160gb? |
Vakarian12
03.10.13 | my Ipod broke today, well not broke but its severly impaired. The spinner stopped working so I can't turn the volume up or change songs or do anything with it really. Restored, restarted, left it on hold for a few minutes, leavign it for a few hours. Nothing works. Shit sucks |
Emyay
03.10.13 | Do they make it bigger than 160gb
