Fairly Cool Album Openers
Some random songs that I thought opened albums well.
Beginning of the End - Just sets the pace for the album very well and has some good atmospheric elements. Sounds epic without sounding too stupid.
Lake Of Fire - Nice and atmospheric track that sounds very futuristic, totally suiting the album.
Painkiller - Easy choice. All round fun musicianship. Solos are cool too.
Seasons In The Abyss
War Ensemble - Dark and moody thrasher. Some great variation of pace throughout.
Casting The Stones
Feast Or Famine - Sounds like Nevermore but with more keyboard. The riffs are pretty cool, and The Tyrant still sounds great as ever.
The Fun Palace - All round awesome. Riffs are killer and the solo rips. Bass is nice too.
Altars Of Madness
Immortal Rites - Dat riff. And everything else. Plus that bit with the keyboard.
(BTW, unless you hadn't already guessed, this list isn't in any real order)
Eve Of The Apocalypse - Riffs are really awesome here and starts the pace of the album very well and gives a good flavor of whats to come later on.
The Years Of Decay
Time To Kill - A slow pace thrasher but sounds pretty malevolent. Riffs are pretty good and Bobby is as good as ever.
Release From Agony
Release From Agony - Evil sounding. Drums use tonnes of nice fills and the solo is cool. Schmier sounds as strangely evil as ever.
I thought Jane Doe and Planetary Duality had fucking face-crushing openers.
Very cool list dude.
Painkiller, War Ensemble, Immortal Rites and Time To Kill are all opening killer tracks.
I like The Fun Palace but I prefer the opening of their debut: Crystal Ann/Alison Hell
Songs like: Maiden's Aces High, Accept's Fast as a Shark, Slayer's Angel of Death, Sepultura's Beneath the Remains are also killer openings.
"fairly good" way to sell it brotha
Twilight Of The Thunder God
The Great Southern Trendkill
Concubine is a really good song, which is pretty much all you can say about Jane Doe
I never like to give music too much credit XD
Anyway, I didn't like Planetary Duality that much. Will see what I can make of Jane Doe.

^ Gay. Best opener ever is Odens Ride Over Nordland from Bathory's Blood Fire Death.
Kinda forgot about that one. I'm not a great fan of Bathory, but I do appreciate small amounts now and then.
