La Rising
Just got back from LA Rising and it was amazing. I want to give a breakdown of each show while they're still fresh in my head. |
| 1 | Rage Against Machine
4.5/5 Holy shit was this was a crazy set. The crowd was going wild and other than some technical difficulties at the beginning they killed it. The energy from the crowd and band was unmatched. One of the best live performances I've ever seen. When they played Sleep Now In the Fire and Killing in the Name Of I've never felt that much energy emanate from a crowd. |
| 2 | Muse
5/5 I'm not in love with Muse, but I still think they're a pretty solid band. However, there live performance was more than a show, it was an experience. From the lights to the smoke to the giant beach ball-esque eyeballs ( I shit you not) they were amazing. Only down point was they didn't play Hysteria. Plug-in Baby was pretty intense though, the crowd loved it. |
| 3 | Rise Against
4/5 Solid performance. The extra riffs/solos in Savior and a few other songs were really great. The weakest of the big three, but still a great set. Prayer of the Refugee was the stand out track for me by far though. |
| 4 | Ms. Lauren Hill
1/5 Fucking terrible. Me and my friends left after her first three songs. You couldn't hear what she was saying at all and their was a shit ton of feedback. This set was horrible. |
| 5 | Immortal Technique
4/5 Enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. He put on a really fun show and when he rapped Dance With the Devil you felt like you were watching what he was describing. Definitely going to check out more of his music now. |
| 6 | El Gran Silencio
2.5/5 Only caught the tail-end of their set, but it wasn't very good or bad. Mediocre. |
