I'm Making a Film

It's a very exciting experience. Our school gave us $3,000 to shoot a 15-page script based on a short story I wrote last semester. We've being doing a lot of official stuff lately: casting, permits, rehearsals, crew recruiting, etc. I thought it would be stressful but everything is working out smoothly, and it makes me even happier to be doing what I love to do.

My friend Tomás Manuel Peláez is doing the soundtrack for our film. We've collaborated before on previous projects and he is the best audio-dude I know. This is his best work in my opinion, a collection of eight melancholic piano compositions with eerie low-frequency sampling. (Available for name-your-price here:

This is the first recording I heard by Tomás--some good old-fashioned bedroom drone/tape-manipulation. (Available for name-your-price here:

Meditative choral music with a haunting piano track as the closer. His music is unreal. (Available for name-your-price here:

The soundtrack for this film, "King Crab," is heavily influenced by instrumental hip-hop such as this. Tomás sent me a beat once and it blew my goddamned mind.
