Irving 12.05.10	I'm of Malaysian heritage, was born in Malaysia, and lived there for most of my life. However, at the moment I am in Canada for my undergraduate degree, and will return home either at the end of my B.Sc (which is in six months) or in mid 2012 - after I complete a Masters (still waiting on application results though). So there you go :)

Irving 12.05.10	I love this place. I can tell you straight up that I'll be very sad when the time comes for me to leave. The weather is a huge challenge though - Kangaroopoo actually got it a bit right. When I first arrived in Canada (Ottawa, specifically) it was early September and it was 15 Celcius. I couldn't stop shivering (in Malaysia it never goes below 25 C). The stewardesses told me I was in for some rough times. Haha.

You know I had to come to Canada to see it? It was banned in Malaysia lol. And when I saw it I partially understood why it may have been banned - we look like North Korea in that movie. That said it was a fantastic conversation starter during my first month in Canada.

I finish my B.Sc then, and if I don't get approved for a M.Sc I'll be heading back; if the M.Sc thing works out then end 2012 will be my return date =) So this is the official census result: there are 1.5 Malaysians on Sputnik. That's 0.5 more than I thought there would be. HAHA! =)

Irving 12.05.10	I actually can't recommend you any, mainly because I'm unaware of them. The Malaysian hardcore scene (if it exists) is probably rather new and doesn't get much attention yet. However if I come across any I'll be sure to let you know.

starry 12.06.10	Well on the internet you can listen to things from all over, and I have no hangups about listening to music in other languages. I don't claim to be an expert on Malay music but I try to find the best classics or newer music for everywhere I can. For modern music in south-east Asia I like Thai music the best. I don't know if it's popular in Malaysia, I have heard it is popular in Laos, Cambodia and Singapore.
