In April?" lol i don't know where you live but we got like 6 inches of snow or more last April in Chicago but yeah you get used to it. been in effect here for almost 4 years now. although it's nice when I go down to visit friends in St. Louis and I can smoke in bars.

Something about being recognized as a cigar bar or something like that. I hated the law at first, but now I'm actually happy with it because it keeps me from chain-smoking all night.

Acanthus 04.06.11	Alright so in anwer to some questions: bloc: Yes, they do fucking rule! Puzzles: I don't smoke, but I have friends that do and second hand smoke is supposed to be in bars. Wolfhorde: Since it pertains to private establishments it is in effect the government messing with the little man, so no smoke rooms. We also had snow on the ground the latter half of last month, but that's besides the point. Omnipanzer: I live in Missouri, we had a ban before this that was for dining establishments but now it's for everywhere. I am curious if that means campus too, I suppose we'll see. Trebor17: Smokers should have their own room with the air filters that take the second hand smoke away, but of course that is much to expensive so a ban is sued instead.

Enotron 04.06.11	as to whether somebody can smoke in a private place should be determined by the owner. as far as public buildings and areas go, yes smoking should be banned. don't see how the issue is so polarizing. i think most private enterprises would naturally lean towards non-smoking/smoking areas or no smoking at all due to the amount of non-smokers who are anal about that sort of thing

sniper01 04.06.11	as an ex-cigarette smoker i really don't understand looking back how it isn't disgusting when you're doing it, but it isn't. but i see people who smoke now and i just feel bad, it just makes the body unhealthy. i'll still smoke hookah on occasion, and weed every very very long while. not that i'm a prude or anything, weed just bores me to death.

Acanthus 04.06.11	Eh I just enjoy the fact that at concerts you can smoke, drink, and have a good time. The Mid-West took a lot longer to pass this than I actually expected, we have the bible-belt and all that going on here so I was thinking it'd happen much sooner. I know it comes off as "bitching" but it is going to change the feel of things for awhile, I'm sure it'll be ok after everyone calms down around town. I don't mind piercings or tattoos because I have both, I have yet to date a smoker but it isn't a huge turn off for me even though I know the health risks; personal freedom to choose doesn't mean they are smart about the choices.
