Mtv As I Remember It.

When I was growing up MTV was still a fledgling network with little to no original programming of it's own. Like many networks in the early days of cable they would import and co-op programming from others. Thanks to this fact there are many shows I got to enjoy growing up. These would be a few from MTV alone.
1The Monkees
Greatest Hits

The Monkees (1985?1987)
I fucking loved The Monkees growing up. IMO there have been very few children shows the match the humor and all around entertainment invested
in this show.
2 Madness
The Rise & Fall

The Young Ones (1987?1988)
I probably shouldn't have been watching this at all but where were my
parents and what the hell was I doing watching MTV at 12:00 in the
morning?
3Monty Python
The Monty Python Instant Record Collection

Monty Python's Flying Circus (1988)
If not for MTV I seriously might have never grown a penchant for the dry
British humor/irony and that would just be sad.
4They Might Be Giants
Flood

Liquid Television (1991?1994)
One of the first high profile platforms for indie animation and one of my
fondest memories of High school.
5Ren and Stimpy
Radio Daze

The Ren and Stimpy Show (1992?1998)
I'm old enough to have caught this originally on Nickelodeon but was
supper happy when they brought it back on MTV. Happy enough to
remember it happening anyway.
6Beavis and Butthead
The Beavis and Butthead Experience

Beavis and Butt-head (1993?1997)
A spin-off series from Liquid Television I'm assuming this doesn't need much
of a description. I remember keenly that parents really didn't get this... at
all.
7The Heads
No Talking Just Head

The Head (1994?1996)
Another spin-off of Liquid Television this is one of two shows I couldn't find
a relevant album to attach this to. It was a funny cartoon that isn't
remembered well enough to go into detail about but I thought it was great.
8Madder Rose
Bring It Down

My So-Called Life (1994?1998)
This was an awesome show that was perfectly timely for me. I was pissed
that it didn't come back for a second season and I've been in love with Clair
Danes ever since.
9The Max Levine Ensemble
OK Smartypants

The Maxx (1995)
This is the other one I couldn't find a relevant album for but this one is different. The Maxx was a far more successful comic by Image Comics and I
love the surreal nature and excellent story line. It was cool to see it
brought a little closer to reality.
10Graeme Revell
Aeon Flux

Æon Flux (1995)
God they fucked this movie up. This also was a spin off from Liquid
Television and definitely the most memorable recurring series. Get the original series on DVD and enjoy. It is truly a treat to savor.
