Stop On In If You're Bored, Digs Rated.

Some albums I'm catching up to or felt like listening to this week.
1Soundtrack
Once

Love this album, I can listen to it over and over again. Beautiful harmonies and palpable passion. 5/5
2Calexico
Algiers

I've been a fan of Calexico since 2005's In The Reins with Iron & Wine. It's nice to see them getting some attention. This album is like Chris Isaak with a better backing band. 4/5
3Calexico
Spiritoso

This is the live album that came with the Algiers super duper bonus edition. It's not the best live album I've ever heard but it is good. 3.5/5
4Waxahatchee
American Weekend

Lo-Fi as an effect runs a little thin for me on this album. By the time I get to the last song I've all but forgotten I'm listening to it. 3/5
5San Cisco
Awkward

It's listed as an album but it's really an EP. I like the single off of it a lot and the rest of the tracks are all a lot of fun. very enjoyable Australian pop by a talented couple of kids. 3.5/5
6Bjork
Bastards

One of the better Bjork Remix albums although they are all pretty great so... 4/5
7Scott Walker
Bish Bosch

I hate crooning but I take it from this guy. There are seriously some moments of brilliance in this album but ultimately it is mired by his voice which is probably a good thing for some people. those few moments however... totally make it worthy of a 4/5
8Bat For Lashes
The Haunted Man

I honestly can't remember what I thought about Two Suns but this is pretty damned good. Honestly this is what pop should be aiming for. 4/5
9 Leech
If We Get There One Day, Would You Please Open The Gates?

I'm honestly not a post rock guy but this makes fro some great background music. Totally enjoyable 3.5/5
10The Smashing Pumpkins
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness: Reissue

Fuuuuuuuck I love this. Totally getting my fan boy on here. I just turned it on and let it play through all 5 disks and was happier for the (minimal) effort. 5/5
11Chelsea Wolfe
Unknown Rooms: A Collection of Acoustic Songs

Been keeping an eye on this chick since Balls introduced me (and others) to ??????????. This is completely enjoyable with great mellow instrumentation behind her lovely flowing voice. 4/5
12(The) Slowest Runner (In All The World)
We, Burning Giraffes

again... not a post-rock guy but this is excellent. similar to the Leeches album above this makes for some really great background music. 3.5/5
13Japandroids
Celebration Rock

Don't get the hype... it's okay but definitely not AOTY material. 3/5
