Well, Mexicans have no problems with cheese afaik because they're partially European. But asians on the other hand have a high rate of lactose intolerance. People in Europe have so much cheese because they started to domesticate cows very early which made them better in digesting lactose. |

06.21.11 | There's this special chicken and rice stand in NYC that has hour lines at all times. The white sauce is just unbelievable mixed in with the chicken, rice, lettuce and pita bread. That, for me, is the closet thing to a real heaven. |

And about 10 minutes ago again I got on with grilled cheese sandwich, unfortunately the dip wasn't hateful enough so I gotta modify it before my last meal today and see what cheese I can find.
And when we move to a cheaper and better flat-share I'm gonna have grilled cheese sandwich with greek Feta and all the specialities at least once a week. Hell yeah. |

Cheese isn't only made from cows milk though. I'm just saying prior to European colonization did any of these other countries experiment and cultivate any real cheese culture. I just was trying to figure out if it was mostly a European thing to play with your mold and make something great from it ;^P
I have no doubt the other countries made a fresh milk curd type of cheese centuries ago but I'm not familiar with it ever having gone beyond that but I could be 100% wrong with that assumption.

06.21.11 | Well, from what I know the main areas where cheese was made are a) the european and scandinavian countries, pretty much what we call "western", b) the greek and hellenistic influenced areas, some in Europe some somwhere else and c) the oriental areas which overlap with the greek influenced ones. Of course there's also goat cheese and sheep cheese - which is fucking awesome. I'd maybe say that Europeans experimented most with cow milk.
