Sputnik Recommends me Music

All credit of this list idea goes to Conmaniac http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=167708. Basically I'll add albums recommended by members of sputnik. I will keep it to 1 recommendation per person (unless this doesn't pick up much traction I'll except more then 1).

Stillworld

Steakbyrnes
Rating: 2.3

Sorry, but Stillworld is everything to me that metalcore continues to stagnant and get worse with. Very forgettable harsh vocals, constant chugging breakdowns, terrible cleans, and repetitive songwriting. This is also feels so much like a Northlane clone it's insane. This band definitely is a band with potential but all I hear is generic metalcore that does little if nothing at all to differentiate itself with the thousands of bands doing the same thing. I tend not to like metalcore like this at all and stick to bands like Zao, Breach, etc.

Wider than the Sky

Hyndez
Rating: 3.7

Doom metal band 40 Watt Sun bring together crooning vocals provided by Patrick Walker (The Warning), really well done crescendos of buildup, and a great use of distorted riffs to really bring this home. However, I can't say this is exactly perfect. Some of this feels all too familiar and treading some repeated territory without much else changing within the album. Production is fantastic though and instrumentally the album works as a whole but just some pieces were missing for me to rate higher. Still worth checking for any Doom metal fan though.
