Best Dir En Grey Albums

I've been listening to this band for a few months and I'm amazed by the quality of music they rrmake and diversity their albums offer. This is my list of favourite DIR EN GREY albums.
1Dir en grey
Uroboros

Had they not released the remastered version a week ago it would be 2nd, but
the new mastering gave new life to many songs that I haven't paid attention yet.
The most beautiful album with gems like Toguro, Glass Skin and Dozing Green,
some instant classic stuff (Vinushka) and a bit of heaviness (Reiketsu Nariseba,
Bugaboo). Actually I find only one song here that is just ok (I prefer the original
version of Hydra), the rest is flawless. Great as an introductory album too.
2Dir en grey
Dum spiro spero

Wow, just what this guy does with his voice on [Yokusou Ni DREAMBOX]! A very
atmospheric and heavy album. The songs are both coherent in style and filled with
variety that makes this one a kind of a grower - I had to listen a few times to each
song to discern one from another, discover some special and distinct moments. Definitely worth it. Since
both of their best albums were the last ones I'm very
impatient to hear what future will bring. :)
3Dir en grey
GAUZE

A great rock debut that is probably their most varied offer - from pop-rock songs like
Yokan through punky stuff (Mask) to some psychotic craziness (Zan). Many people
miss the times when they weren't all about death metal, I can see why.
4Dir en grey
Withering to death

This one has the highest "replay ratio" for me - I used to listen to songs like
Merciless Cult, C, Kodou or The Final over and over. If I had last.fm I could check it,
but nonetheless I suppose that those have been the 4 most frequent songs in my
player. Very melodic and accessible.
5Dir en grey
Vulgar

I'm a bit bored with the infamous Obscure (try the video, it's very... specific :) ,
but the 4 opening songs are ones I'm never tired of. Increase Blue wins the Pony
Award for the best galloping track.
6Dir en grey
Kisou

This album I remember mostly for ballads - Embryo, 24 Cylinders, Bottom of the
death valley. The opener and Jessica are nice too, but that's all I guess. Maybe I
should listen to it a bit more, hopefully there's some interesting stuff left.
7Dir en grey
MACABRE

[KR] cube!!! I love the track. Hydra, Taiyou No Ao and Rasetsu Koku (a good name for a
male porn star BTW) shine here too. The rest is forgettable.
8Dir en grey
The Marrow of a Bone

Well, it's not *that* bad. Compared to their other stuff it just feels so generic.
The best what happened to this album is to be found on youtube - someone
did a "strech mix" of Agitated Screams of Maggots, recording the song 4x
slower. The result is... demonic.
