Sweet Digs And Big Recs

All this stuff needs many more ratings.
1Aunt Sally
Aunt Sally

I never really found a lot of enjoyment in all the japanese punk/wave stuff but this
is a GREAT record. The lead singer, phew, released a couple records in collaboration
with all sorts of other musicians.
2Phew
Phew

From what I get this is co-written by the Jaki Liebezeit, Holger Czukay (both of
CAN) and Conny Plank (notable german producer). That alone should be a reason
enough to give this a spin. I don't think it's the best thing Phew has ever done but
it's interesting nonetheless.
3Phew
Our Likeness

Jaki Liebezeit was involved in the creation of this one along with some other german
musicians including Alexander Hacke of Einst?rzende Neubauten. Transcends hard.
Just give it a listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH1xgUKrZTs

Haven't listened to this one yet but that album cover :3
5 Les Rallizes Denudes
'77 Live

I have pretty much only listened to Haino (solo and with Fushitsusha) and Les
Rallizes Denudes when it comes to japanese Psych/Noise-Rock and this is without a
doubt the best thing I've heard so far. Isn't even close.
6 Kengo Iuchi
?????

Really noisy folk. Pretty much the exact opposite of easy listening.
7KOR=GIRL
KOR=GIRL I

Technically J-Pop, but really doesn't sound anything like typical, japanese pop
music. It's upbeat but not obnoxiously so and the singing is super soft. I'm not sure
if they sing in japanese, english, both or neither. Good album for summer time.
8Ludovico Einaudi
In a Time Lapse

A classical album that is extremely accessible and at the same time not a violins
meet top40 mashup, sweet.
9Joe Meek
I Hear A New World

Kinda starts off as something you'd expect to be on the Firefly soundtrack but then
ascends hard towards outer space. There is nothing quite like this.
10In Slaughter Natives
Enter Now The World

An album somewhere between spooky ambient and harsh industrial sounds. Not too
overwhelming, but definitely interesting.
11Maurizio Bianchi
Symphony For a Genocide

I'm by no means an expert on noise music but this seems to be a fairly good entry
point to the genre. I can't really compare it to anything but it's relatively easy to
listen to.
12 Ling Tosite Sigure
i'mperfect

Their most recent release. Amazing album, just like the 4 before. This band really
can't do any wrong.
13SCB
Hard Boiled VIP

The VIP is alright but nowhere close to the real sensation: 28_5. That track is one
of the sickest dub techno bangers I've ever listened to. Just check it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3q08iqp7EhI
14Hisato Higuchi
Dialogue

Basically a dude playing some minor chords while breathing into the microphone.
15 Alvarius B. and Cerberus Shoal
The Vim & Vigour Of Alvarius B. And Cerberus Shoal

A split where both sides play their own versions of the same three songs. The first
half is mainly about the vocals while the second shows a whole band going all
psych folk on those songs.
16Morita Doji
A Boy

Goes hard to the feels.
17Fushitsusha
Live II

II > I. Also, 5 ratings ~ sputnik pls ~
18Tatsuhiko Asano
Genny Haniver

A combination of guitar and electronic sounds creating some of the best
downtempo/chillout music ever. Really unique and ridiculously overlooked.
