|Bands I'm Seeing Within The Next Month-ish|
Your life sucks
Tomorrow night. Should be a nice way to kick off this clusterfuck. The two
people opening for him are my sister's exboyfriend and then a human kitten
AKA one of the most attractive guys in the city. cool.
Bon Iver, Bon Iver
On the 22nd. It's a sold out show but I got DA HOOKUPS Y'ALL. They have a
song named after my city, nuff said. Also a band called Staves is opening for
A few other local bands that are playing shows prior to the Sled Island
festival notably: Desolace, Keotaos, fffffff, Udopia, Shearing Pinx, Random
Cuts, Cable Knits, Party Cat, Ringleader, Gnats, Coalspur, Watcher,
Shahman, Mouse Ear, Roanoke, Tel Fyr, Mahria, Lovers, Damages, Animal
|4||And So I Watch You From Afar|
They're playing our annual Sled Island festival. You might have to scrape my
brains from the ceiling when this is over.
Sled Island. This show is going to be packed because of all the buzz over
the last year. Oh well. Worth it.
Boris At Last - Feedbacker
Sled Island. Just got announced this morning, to replace Grimes' tour
cancellation. I couldn't be happier, I thought I'd lost the opportunity to see
them forever when they played an 18+ show with Red Sparrowes when I
Sled Island. Another announcement from this morning. Hopefully they'll
have new material too... This is going to rule pretty hard.
Blood Guts Bruises Cuts
Sled Island. Hometown heroes. I've seen these guys a million times but
they still rule... Every time.
Sled Island. One of the best post-rock acts to see live. EVER
Harmony in Ultraviolet
Sled Island. Never thought this would happen, ever.
|11||Yamantaka // Sonic Titan|
Sled Island. Only recently got into these guys/gals... Reminds me of a
heavier version of Glasser
Sled Island. I'll go see these guys if I have time. You'll probably hear about
them at some point. One of the best generic metalcore bands to come out
in a while.
I Get Wet
Sled Island. I swear this dude has played this festival every year so we'll see.
Sled Island. I kind of hate this band but I have a feeling I'll get dragged to
their show somehow
Sled Island. Blood Brothers-esque band from Edmonton. Incredibly
entertaining to watch.
throw it at your dads house
Sled Island. really hipster and really fun
Sled Island. Another band on the Sargent House label. Never got into their
recordings but I think they'd be really good live.
|18||Archers of Loaf|
Sled Island. I have a feeling I'm too young to like this band. Still, if I have
an opening to see them, I will
|19||Larry and His Flask|
All That We Know
Sled Island. Never heard of this band but they sound like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=903oVzMObak so I'm pretty down to
Sled Island. I don't care that much for her anymore. She's headlining
Sled Island. Prog punk legends. Not a big fan of them anymore but if I have
time I'll definitely check them out.
Bands not mentioned: Nu Sensae and This City Rejects.... I have BIG fear of
missing out on all this shit this year.
|I don't think you're ready for this jelly|
|The Dudes always put on an awesome show. |
|yes only one band plays every night thats how concerts work|
|I met Tim Hecker at Roadburn, he was a great guy. Russian Circles, Boris, Mount Eerie rule hard live.
I'll be seeing Death/Atheist at the end of next month m/|
|Sled is 4 days long, and our local shows usually have 3-4 people playing. Even as it is I'm, I'm going to miss out on a lot of stuff. fuuuuuu|
|yeah well dont miss #7. ive seen em live and they ruuuullle|
|13 and 14 are rad live.|
seeing against me! and radiohead in the next month. the latter will be playing their first show in mich since the mid-90's. the former i've seen at least a dozen times, but seeing them now will be quite interesting. stoked as shit on both counts.
|Don't miss your chance to see Damages when you are at that Mahria show. Band has some killer material and I've heard nothing but good things about their live show.|
|Haha, I've seen Damages a couples times before, I know. It's a separate show so I'll probaly end up seeing them.|
|Maaaaan I really wanna go see 6 before I die|
Should be seeing Iron Maiden w/ Coheed sometime in july. I think Minus the Bear is coming down to Austin sometime soon so maybe that, too.
|Fuck my girlfriend saw Russian Circles before we met and she said they ruled. She actually went to a Coheed show but she liked Russian Circles more. She said their drummer was amazing. I'd like to see them.|
|Ugh by that I mean Russian Circles opened for Coheed. Stupid English language is stupid|
|already seen most of these and i got to meet tim hecker and show him my music|
|Bands I'm seeing within two months:|
Ozzy + friends
Your life sucks.
|mastodon isnt anything to brag about trust me|
|It's within Copenhell (Copenhagen Hell Festival). Mastodon, Lamb of God, Slayer, Meshuggah, Killswitch, etc.|
|" I think Minus the Bear is coming down to Austin sometime soon so maybe that, too."|
Minus the Bear played the Sled Island festival last year. Probably my favorite shows of all time... they're really tight live.
|holy shit nice|
i saw Shabazz Palaces like a month ago and they fucking ruled. same with Andrew W.K. and The Antlers
and if you don't see NoMeansNo you're dead to me
|3'd be cool, fuck the rest though I'm not interested. |
|13 and 19 are insanely fun live bands|
|I'm sure you've heard, or will hear at some point, but Refused are playing here in august!|
|Who are you and how do you know such wonderful things about Calgary's future???|
|Lucky, I would go up to Canada to see Mahria + co. I've been playing 3 a lot lately. Also don't know if you're joking about Archers of Loaf or not. You're never too young for the band who sings Learo, you're a hole. I'm incredibly jealous of your schedule for next month. The most bands I get to see in a whole year doesn't even come close to the amount on this list. |
