SgtPepper 02.22.13	I haven't heard most of these, but they all sound very promising. Nice finds, man. Czar, Khan, and Carmen, really caught my eye. Who/what do these sound like?
MeatSalad 02.22.13	A lot of this is symphonic prog, but there's some prog folk and more hard-rock oriented stuff in there too. Khan is a steve hillage project so you can expect a canterbury-esque sound, carmen is prog folk. Czar is symphonic/hard rock.

MeatSalad 02.23.13	Get your hands on 1 and 7 for sure. I can't be sure what you've heard or not but 13, 20 and 33 are all great. I actually haven't heard all of this, a lot of it is stuff that I found out about recently but wasn't in the database.

YankeeDudel 02.23.13	nah henry cow (anything by fred frith) and aphrodites child are the best here. they standout the most and are most experimental. england is cool too. alot of these are just run o da mill sympho prog honestly and theres a reason they're obscure. jus sayin.

YankeeDudel 02.23.13	about half of them are but still if they're not sympho then they're runnadamill hard rock, heavy psych, psych, whatever. i listened to that henry cow album a few days ago and it was def different from that. im not sayin these are bad by any means, they seem good, and youd def love em since they're right up your alley. im just a jaded drunk fuck right now ha.

JamieTwort 02.23.13	Obviously I can only speak about the ones I've heard but Cressida for example are hardly run of the mill seeing as they're considerred one of the pioneering symphonic prog bands. T2's album is hardly run of the mill either boasting an incredibly in depth musical analysis of an acid trip in the form of Morning. I could go on. Obviously you're entitled to your opinion though.

YankeeDudel 02.23.13	T2 and Cressida are good. I have both those albums. And pretty much all of these are good. Hell its 70s prog course it is. Im just all about the uniqueness man. I guess the first thing I look for in a band is what makes this original, distinct, or unique in any way? Why do I want to listen to this album over the hordes of others? Now of course if the music is good who cares if its unique right, cuz not everything can be, but still its just what keeps me goin. I like hearin things I havent heard before. I guess this is why Ive been attracted to more experimental music lately. Im just gettin weirder and weirder ha.
MeatSalad 02.23.13	Yeah that explains why you put henry cow and aphrodite's child above the others here but I definitely prefer that traditional prog sound from around 69-76 above any other kind of progressive music.
JamieTwort 02.23.13	Yeah I understand Yankee, I guess the point I was trying to make is that a handfull of the albums on this list are ones that I would pick out as some of the more interesting obscure prog/psych albums. Obviously there is a lot of obscure prog out there that is obscure for a reason but there's a number of albums on here that were pretty important and influential at the time and definitely don't deserve to be put in the 'obscure for a reason' category imo.

YankeeDudel 02.23.13	Its not that it has to be 100% original or anything. I just prefer when a band has their own style at least that makes them stand out. In any genre theres hundreds of bands that are ok but dont really stand out because they just sound like every other band. Most of the best bands have that distinct style that you know right away. Its harder and harder to do that these days but yea I just try to mix things up so I dont get bored.

But now he just said he downloaded 1000 post rock songs so that looks like that will be his new obsession lol. We all look for different things.
