Best Of Outside Lands
Went to Outside Lands last weekend in SF, now I miss it and feel like rmaking a list to commemorate the event. Feel free to ignore it, or leave rcomments if you went as well. If anyone saw the same bands at other festivals, I'd be curious rhow you thought they performed against what I wrote here. |
| 1 | Muse
Muse always puts on an amazing show and this was not exception. I got
pretty close for this and it was worth it. |
| 2 | Deadmau5
(Projected Rating) I had to catch a midnight flight (only way to be able to
attend the festival at all) so left after only 30 minutes, but they were a kick
ass 30 minutes. |
| 3 | Starfucker
Their music was great and the crowd got really into it. They played
everything spot on and were better live than on the albums |
| 4 | The Shins
James Mercer's voice was amazing and the girl guitarist added some cool
riffs to the songs. |
| 5 | The Black Keys
They were really good live. I enjoyed it when it was just the
two members more because Dan added a lot more cool riffs to the songs. |
| 6 | Beirut
It took them a few songs to warm up but they were much better than when
I saw them earlier this summer. |
| 7 | Major Lazer
Really fun DJ set by Major Lazer. Everyone was really into it even though
they didn't especially play the best or most popular songs. |
| 8 | Arctic Monkeys
They had a really good set list but something was off about their
performance. They seemed really tired for the first half. |
| 9 | MGMT
The first half was awesome, the second was only okay. They had a very
poor song selection for a hour long festival set. Im okay with no 'Kids', but
12 minute long 'Siberian Breaks' should be saved for their own shows. |
| 10 | The Vaccienes
I only saw half of this, but it was great. Would be probably be higher if I
saw the whole thing. |
| 11 | Grouplove
Saw them as I took a standing break so that might have affected it a lot. I
checked out their EP after the weekend and liked it. |
| 12 | Tune-Yards
Only saw half of this as well. Not really my kind of music, but it was cool
how she looped different stuff live. Much better live than on the CD. |
| 13 | Phantogram
First band of the weekend so I dont really remember much other than liking it. |
| 14 | !!!
Not my style of music at all, but still had fun dancing to it |
| 15 | Big Audio Dynamite
Saw them to escape the freezing cold weather and get a good spot for The
Shins. Only band I saw that I would place at the 'okay' level. They only had
a couple good songs and the rest were pretty mediocre. |
