My Top 10 Eps

A list of my top ten favorite EPs and split albums. Only full EPs (not rsingles with 2 or 3 extra rtracks) and not only live material are rincluded. As always, recs would be awesome.
My Iron Lung

A solid ep from Radiohead that shows part of the transition from The Bends to OK Computer. Nothing too special, but its worth a listen
9The National
Cherry Tree EP

A strong piece by The National created right before their breakout album, Alligator. Some of the songs here are better the songs on the album, but a few fall short.
Time to Pretend

Time to Pretend and Kids are actually the only songs I don't listen to on this one. A very electronic-heavy release from MGMT before they went with the full band approach.
7Passion Pit
Chunk of Change

These are Passion Pit's 6 best songs. The level of production on this EP isn't way overdone as on their first full length and it adds a new layer that would later be sanded out by the production
6Modest Mouse
Everywhere And His Nasty Parlour Tricks

A collection of an earlier EP with a few B-sides from The Moon and Antarctica. Has very distinct sound, yet you can tell who it is from the very beginning. A little bit dark, like Moon&Antarctica
5Arctic Monkeys
Who the Fuck are Arctic Monkeys?

A short EP, but this one covers a little bit of everything. Each song has a different musical direction which makes this EP a very enjoyable listen
4Bear Hands
Golden EP

Like Who the Fuck...? this one has four songs that each have a unique yet cohesive style. Listen to Long Lean Queen and Bad Blood if you've never heard of these guys.
3Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution
A Call to Arms

Tomas Kalnoky's pre Streetlight, all acoustic project. Most of the songs on here would be redone by Streetlight, but this EP is still a refreshing listen although I'd be lying if I said I'm not glad Tomas moved on to Streetlight.
2Against Me!
The Acoustic EP

This EP by Against Me! contains only two instruments, an acoustic guitar and an acoustic bass. Those two instruments, along with Tom Gabel's voice, create an in-your-face sound of Folk Punk. Even though most songs here would re-appear in electric form on Reinventing Axel Rose, the versions here have an entirely different feeling to them.
1 Anti-Flag / Bouncing Souls
BYO Split Series 4

This split is mainly number one because of The Bouncing Soul's half. It contains some of the strongest songs the Souls have made, including a great re-make of Anti-Flag's "Thats Youth." Anti-Flag's half is also very stong, including some of my favorite songs of theirs. They didn't choose the best Bouncing Souls song to cover, but pulled it off well.
