| Check Them Out!
Ok, so here in Ireland we get a few groups who reach commercial success such as U2, The etc. Not quite my cup of tea! But the metal community, for the most part, is pretty much ignored! So here's just a select few that IMO are well worth a checkout! | 1 | Primordial
You SHOULD know of Primordial, probably the most famous metal band ever to come out of Ireland. An experimental and unique blend of blackened folk metal, Primordial really do give metal an Irish touch! | 2 | Gamma Bomb
Anyone know these guys? I seen them supporting Machine Head in 2007, blew the place down. Thrash metal from Ireland (Y) check out the new album; Tales from the Grave in Space. | 3 | Warpath
Probably the biggest name on the Irish death metal scene at the minute. Hard, heavy and a unique sound are the elements that have won Warpath a large fanbase which they duely deserve. The album "Gorefare" is available now on websites such as "CD Baby" and can be heard on YouTube. Check out the track "Brutal Paralysis" | 4 | Cold War
Although a seasoned crew at this stage, Dublin's Cold War are still up and coming and continue to grow a large fan base in the metal scene. Having started as a hardcore punk band at the time of their formation, the band have now progressed more towards their death metal influences. The album "Bloodfire Sunset" is worth looking into! | 5 | Slave Zero
Formed in 2000, the Kilkennians have honed their Thrash/Death sound exactly how they want it to sound, and implement it with sheer brutality. | |

03.21.10 | 1 is good and most people here know them, 2 and 3 are pretty mediocre to me, nothing really that sets them apart from the endless rabble of the rest in their respective genres. haven't heard 4 or 5. aside from primordial, mourning beloveth, scald, decayor, and nux vomica are the only irish bands i listen to. | TRMshadow
03.21.10 | I had Tales from the Grave in Space on my year end list last year. Though I don't know if it was one of the best of the year, it definitely takes the cake for best thrash of the year. | jesusjuice1179
