pwalcher 01.08.12	Tried neurosis "the eye of every storm"...god knows i tried!!!! Just isn't happening. So given that I can't take neurosis, is cult of luna a nice pitstop?

ZombicidalMan 01.08.12	Even though I love Isis, uh, no, they don't. WR was incredibly mediocre compared to their other work, even though some of it did rule. As far as ranking each band, Neurosis obviously deserves to be first, no argument there even from someone who prefers Isis. Kind of just depends on what you're in the mood for; all three bands create pretty different atmospheres.

Cult of Luna is well worth a listen imo they create better atmosphere pieces are where as ISIS has better heavy sections. If your even a LITTLE into ISIS you should be able to love/appreciate something from neurosis.

Butkuiss 01.15.12	Lol at all the butthurt. But srsly, their albums are all amazing. CoL are great. Try Somewhere Along The Highway or Salvation. Those albums bring back memories, man. Rosetta are awesome as well. Get Galilean Satellites or A Determinism of Morality. Also, Zozobra, The Ocean, Pelican (old stuff), Mouth of the Architect, etc.

pedro70512 01.15.12	I tried Neurosis too and just couldn't get into it. TSIB has some great pieces but is generally super repetitive without evolution and the buildups are too caustic; it just doesn't create a consistently enjoyable mood. I guess I'm missing a genome or something, or maybe I need to be more brutally post-apocapyltic in my taste.
Shuyin 01.15.12	neurosis is hard at first, it was the same with me. people here on sputnik told me to keep trying and oh boy it was worth it.. its not really repetitive when you start noticing all the small details and stuff.

evilford 05.11.12	yeah ISIS needs another album all 3 ISIS, Neurosis and CoL are great. they are def top 3 PM bands but they all have their own flavor and there is something to love about all of them. and it seems like it's trendy to bash ISIS here. there is a hater bandwagon. anyways, any of those three you haven't check out, do so. Through Silver in Blood is Neurosis' best imo. The Beyond and Somewhere Along the Highway are tops for CoL
pwalcher 05.11.12	I actually tried TSIB and it's much better than TEoES, so maybe my taste will change and this Neurosis hate will go away. I still cannot consider any album by them a 4+ but TSIB was definitely a start. CoL will be next and I will surely start with that album. @mindle: man Wavering Radiant was pure bliss for me, everything I loved about ISIS in one album

Keyblade 05.13.12	I loved TEoES from the first time I heard it over 2 years ago. It's pretty accessible so it's weird hearing how people can't get into it.
Inveigh 05.13.12	Souls at Zero is definitely the most traditional of their main albums I used to think Times of Grace wouldn't be the best place for someone to start (my first two were TSiB and TEoES), but it seems like a lot of people ended up getting into them with that one after countless attempts with the more recommended releases.

I then tried ENemy of the Sun and listened to that fully twice and just didn't get it. Then I listened to The Eye of Every Storm and I didn't get it until I heard I Can See You. Then the band just clicked and I love all their albums (bar Pain of Mind and the Word as Law, I still can't digest their crust punk stage)
pwalcher 05.13.12	@qwe (or anyone really): Are Times of Grace or Souls at Zero heavy? I'm pretty sure the main reason i liked TSIB were the heavier sections. Fuck they were good. TEoES really was lacking heavy sections and when they happened they lasted a short while and then it back to zzzzzz
