My new EP (Progressive Rock, Folk)
Here is my new EP titled Circles. It's only twenty minutes and I was rplanning on adding a rrcouple of more songs but my summer has been rinsanely busy between preparing for my first rrsemester at college, trying rto find a new car so I can get there, and tons of issues regarding rrmy PC rwhich has made recording a nightmare. (Running on only 2 GB of Ram is rjust awful for rrrecording)rAs far as instruments go, I recorded these songs using my Shecter 8-rString rguitar, ra Rogue Fretless Bass, a Korg Microkey for all of the rkeyboards. I also used various rVSTs like rEz Drummer Vintage Rock for the rdrums and a load of free VSTs like Redtron for rthe rMellotron, Pro Solo rVST for the Synths which is based after the ARP Pro Soloist that rTony rrBanks used on the early Genesis records, a VL122 Hammond Organ rSimulator, 4-Front rR-Piano based after the Fender Rhoades Electric Piano rand Syntar for the Sitar sounds in rRajasthan, Here is the link: https://soundcloud.com/jerradwilliams/sets/circles-demosrHope you guys enjoy and it's up for free download if you wish to have it in your library which rwould rbe pretty cool!

Damn r's.... -_-
pretty cool dude
Ill check it out :D
Hope you dig it meat :D
Don't get your hopes up. Meat doesn't dig anything.
There are great moments, but songs are a bit inconsistent. Production covers up the coolness of the songs. :[
|Any particular feedback as far as the production goes?
That's something I'm constantly trying to work on and I never have any idea where to start :/
As far as mixing goes, I pan everything accordingly but that's about it. I don't have much experience with EQ, compression or
anything like that.
Thanks for giving it a go btw|
Honestly, I'm working out the kinks myself. I'm a rank amateur too when it comes to production so totally the wrong person to give you suggestions. :[
It's ridiculously tough getting a decent mix together. I do think a lot of my problem at the moment is where I'm using a lot of MIDI stuff. I think being able to record an actual drum kit and some of the other stuff would make a huge difference but there are artists who use nothing but virtual instruments that come out with a really nice sound. It's an endless struggle but you're always learning something!
What're you using to record?
Reaper is my DAW.
You should ask Jash and Puzzles for help with cleaning up your production. They've got more experienced and I've heard some good stuff from them.
