Hyperion1001 09.30.11	Lots of people seem to hate but i thought it was actually pretty interesting, even disturbing in parts.

Hyperion1001 09.30.11	yeah the first half had pretty explicit/brutal rape scenes, but it was done tastefully i guess you could say. there was a lot of sympathy in the film i thought which is something you dont get too often in horror.
ShinXetsu 09.30.11	It's a classic in that it pretty much championed a new genre during that time but personally I thought it sucked. I was going on a disturbing horror movie spree a while back and my favorites were The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Begotten (not particularly horror but disturbingly surreal), and Cannibal Holocaust. Salo and A Serbian Film are alright too I guess. Vesper 09.30.11	I haven't seen it, but I know what it's about, because it was in a book discussing the fear of powerful women (making them into monsters or monstrous) in horror movies. Appropriate, haha.
Hyperion1001 09.30.11	I thought the film was really done actually, the sterile camera shots and lack of dialogue was strange but interesting. it just kind of worked.

BallsToTheWall 09.30.11	Yeah, generally they find, clean up and remaster "the worlds greatest films" from around the globe from the 1920's to today. They have turned me onto a lot of fantastic stuff that I would have otherwise never have known, particularly the old films.

Hyperion1001 09.30.11	Yeah i think some of the old stuff ive gotten from netflix has been criterion. Then again sometimes they send you the shittiest dvd's ever, the one for Susperia was horrible.
BallsToTheWall 09.30.11	Never saw it, but I dont really know when I started getting into their shit, but the Russian original Solaris and Bergman's The Seventh Seal made me a believer. Barnes N Nobles has a great Criterion collection but they are overpriced. 30 to 50% more than Movie Stop.

foreverendeared 09.30.11	Criterion is the shit. The only problem I have with them is they are too quick to add new, popular movies into their collection. They released Benjamin Button the day the DVD was released worldwide.

omnipanzer 09.30.11	"I Spit On Your Grave" Saw it when I was a kid but I barely remember it. I remember not hating it. I had an infatuation with Horror movies growing up. I saw Nightmare on Elm Street when I was 8 and I was just hooked. I watched every shit horror movie for like the next decade.

BallsToTheWall 09.30.11	Im still rather perturbed that Twilight's Jasper didn't play Varg in Lords of Chaos, im actually serious, that's the only character in the series I have no problem with besides his haircut. Acted pretty good.
