http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ymx3rW6Kbs
Brazilian pop music, double LP. Beatles influence. Most of the tracks are more uptempo than this but the vocal is great on this one. Lyrics are all in Portuguese except for one song in Spanish. |

06.22.13 | Chrisjon89, I feel like I could get on board with that. Very nice.
Keyblade, sounding interesting I'll have to give it a better listen when less tired for fear of falling asleep.
ShadowRemains, not so much a fan of the first. The second is nice! don't usually enjoy too many female vocalists but I could handle that. Also tried to listen to Keaton Henson recently and didn't like it too much but I liked that maybe I was just starting with the wrong album.
I actually just moved to Kelowna last weekend, just missed it. Lots of friends and some family that got evacuated. My one friends house went under water, such a shame. |

Chrisjon89
06.22.13 | don't wanna overdo it but
Minnie Riperton - Come To My Garden (1970)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1kDd6yBQZ4
The chorus is the most triumphant thing ever. She sang 'Lovin' You' which was the song that triggered the explosives on the donkey on South Park when that guy hits the high F. This album is like soul meets baroque pop and she has a million octave voice. I'm writing all this shit just in case it sounds like something you'd hate. then no need to waste time |
Banion
06.22.13 | Ah I feel like I'm falling behind I want to listen to everything, right now.
I appreciate that Keyblade I'll for sure give it a proper listen.
I'm not the biggest Bomb the music Industry fan, could never quite get into it.
AliW1993, I thought I liked Arab Strap initially but then it began to fade... |
Banion
06.22.13 | I appreciate that Chrisjon89, giving it a listen anyways. Can't say its my cup of tea. |

skeames1214
09.26.13 | Youth Lagoon. Really awesome if you're into 90s indie like BtS and Modest Mouse. It's captures the same kind of grand adolescent musings and the melodies are just ridiculously catchy. |
Sleaper
09.26.13 | tbh youth lagoon is not catchy what so ever. and its everything but indie rock. hes great.. but you described him entirely wrong. |
skeames1214
09.26.13 | I just mean that the 90s indie rock scene was a bunch of very raw, youthful bands that produced a lot of existential, grand music mixed with really personal, small details. How can you not find his music catchy? Most of the melodies are like god damn nursery rhymes. They've just got that 'it', you know? |
Sleaper
09.26.13 | i dont hear many melodies in his music tbh. i just see him as a bad ass lo-fi psych-noise artist. Hes
fucking good at what he does. |
skeames1214
09.26.13 | I mean he definitely is, but he's got some pop sensibilities too. Less so on Wondrous Bughouse, granted, but there are still a few more immediate songs. Dropla is a banger. |
someguest
09.26.13 | You know what I like about Banion the best?
She has huge...
eyes. |
Sleaper
09.26.13 | yeee i guessss ill agree on him having some pop attributes. DAMN agreeing with people makes me feel horrible. jk jk |
skeames1214
09.26.13 | @Sleaper I just saw YL live tonight, by the way. The Wondrous Bughouse songs he played fucking ruled, and it was awesome to hear more sonically crisp versions of the YoH songs. |
someguest
09.26.13 | "DAMN agreeing with people makes me feel horrible."
Not as horrible as I feel reading your posts. |
Sleaper
09.26.13 | ohh nice man. i saw him at the bowery like last march? he only played YoH stuff so it was pretty predictable, but the show was rad. how did bughouse sound live? |
skeames1214
09.26.13 | The bughouse songs he played were awesome. Dropla in particular. The crowd was actually super fun, too, which is pretty rare. We were all super into it. He was playing in this cool, small bar. |

09.26.13 | This user is such a Sleaper hit. |
