Kiran 01.04.11	the problem now with chelsea is that the players they've built their team around are hitting the latter stages of their careers. guys like terry, lampard and drogba aren't going to be able to replicate the form they've shown in previous seasons for much longer. with a host of injury-prone defenders and overwhelmingly average back ups, the problems are only now coming to light. who's going to replace drogba as the target man? sturridge? who's going to make up for the 15+ goal seasons lampard puts in? malouda's taken a huge responsibility but he's essentially a forward and as we've just seen (last season too), he drops in and out of form. i'd take city's, united's, spur's or arsenals squads over chelsea's current group any day.

couldwinarabbit 01.04.11	man u has NO bench and is far older. now I agree with what you are saying for the most part I disagree in some parts. It has already been shown that Lamps will be able to pull a gigs (if not better) and that he will be a starter on a top team till his late 30's. He is also quick resiliant and I don't think chelsea really needs to worry about a stronger center mid for a couple years. Cech and to a lesser extent drogba should be good players for a couple more campaigns and cech never gets hurt. Where they are really starting to hurt is at the back end. Terry is slowing down and I doubt his back is recovered. Cole seems worn out from too many seasons of doing too much. They will definetly need to do some rebuilding in the next couple of years but they should still be the best this year. (in epl at least). They have clearly shown, this season, that when all 11 are playing they are the best. I do still believe that they have the 2nd best chance in the world to win champions league this year, if they focus on it. And they have a shitload of money to rebuild afterwards.

It sucks the kinda luck they have. their a top 6 or 7 contender easily if all are fit. but being an Arsenal fan, I'd LOVE to see them bring the title this year. They deserve it and have the talent. and even if they don't win it, I really wanna see someone besides Man U or Chelsea win it. There needs to be change and variety to the league. Not one club has been consistent or looked like a dominating force at all this season. As for defence i think terry is starting to look a bit suspect at the back and hasn't been right since the details of his private life came out last season. Their defense is too experienced for their recent lapse to be anything other than a fluke. I'm fairly confident that they'll pull it together. Regarding the epl however, it's hard to see anyone other than the top three taking home the title.
AliW1993 01.04.11	City have the best defense in the league, and some fantastic individuals in attack. The only problem is that they don't know how to chase a game when they go behind, scene as their lineups are usually so defensive. I really don't want to see them win it because of the way they have effectively bought success (just like Chelsea, only worse), but if they don't this season then I'm pretty sure they will next year. The only thing I can see hindering their success is the new financial fair play rules, but they don't come into effect for a few years yet.
Thane 01.04.11	Yesss football on sputnik. I'm a Barca supporter, they pretty much got me into the sport. Used to hate it until I saw the way they played, around 3-4 years ago. Hopefully Afellay will play tomorrow, can't wait to see what he has to offer to the team.

Thane 01.04.11	It is kind of depressing to see how much they struggle without Messi though, like their 2-1 game against Levante. Levante did play very defensively, but still. They rely way too much on him, Xavi and Iniesta and I think winning La Liga will be hard if any of those three get injured.

They're basically the Spanish national side. Chelsea are not by far the most 'talented' team in the Premier League by any stretch of the imagination. Granted, they should be beating teams like Villa, but they're practically devoid of creative players and struggling to overpower teams like they did in the first month of the season. I agree that Cole was the only player to turn up in South Africa and that it's pretty odd how dramatically they've fallen.
