Favorite Black Metal Albums At The Moment

Like stated. Favorite black metal albums at the moment in ralphabetical order.
1Gorgoroth
Pentagram

Gorgoroth's first studio album (and in my opinion, their best) is what a black metal album should be. Driving, droning riffs, lo-fi production, and shrieks that could wake the dead. Truly a blasphemous black metal classic.
2Lightning Swords Of Death
The Golden Plague

This album was hard for me to get into at first. The quality is so bad that it's nearly intollerable. Once you get past the production, the album is really quite solid. Somewhat sludgy at times and very dark, it makes for a really good listen.
3Lo-Ruhamah
Lo-Ruhamah

I'm not sure whether these guys are considered black metal or not. They are definitely influenced by it regardless. This EP is one of the best I've heard from a black metal band. Progressive, catchy, brutal. The vocals are perfect. The bass playing should also be noted, as it is audible for most of the album. A great find for any black metal fan.
4Primordial
The Gathering Wilderness

Primordial. Pioneers of black/folk metal. Completely original. This album creates such an atmosphere that cannot be ignored. One truly feels as if they are standing on a coast in Ireland amidst a great storm. The vocals are very recognizable and quite comprehensible. This band cannot put out a bad album and I anxiously await their new release this year.
5Wolves In The Throne Room
Two Hunters

Wolves In The Throne Room is one of my favorite black metal bands. This album really shows how beautiful black metal can be. I put this album on at night to fall asleep to. With nature-oriented lyrics, intricate guitar and drum work, and an amazing guest appearance by Jessica Kinney on "The Cleansing", this is truly a remarkable album and will remain one of my favorites for a long time.
