DDconjoined 03.02.12	DEP were insane hey. did you get in that circle pit? Meshuggah were brilliant, I was at Gojira as well. Chimaira were pretty good for 11.30am also. Great Day!!
InFiction 03.02.12	No, I'm pretty sure Thursday clashed with one of these guys. I would've liked to see them though. Nah, I was more at the back during Dillinger. Still, a great show.
Captain North 03.02.12	Thursday's last ever tour though, shoulda taken time out man. Dillinger and letlive were absolutely nuts at Sydney. Butler broke the mic about ten times within the first song haha.
InFiction 03.02.12	Haha, yeah he was pretty harsh on the mic here too. I wish I could've, but I've never really listened to them properly. I should though. I'm gutted I had to miss Mastodon. Even more so, because I didn't end up getting to see Enter Shikari either! Grr.
Captain North 03.02.12	I saw mastodons sideshow with gojira and Kvelertak...I thought the other two would be better since I'm not that big a fan of mastodon, but they absolutely blew me away. One of the best performances I've ever seen.
Hawks 03.02.12	I'd love to eventually see 2, 4, 7, and 12 live.
DaveyBoy 03.03.12	The closest I got to seeing anything remotely similar was 3 Circa Survive songs. Anthony has definitely improved his confidence as a front-man, but as a live band they still have the same issues as when I saw them 2-3 years back: Every song sounds the f'n same. Thought the new album would cure that , but was mistaken from what I saw. I did catch Thursday. I felt I owed them that for a great career.
Puzzles 03.03.12	I'm glad you had a good time dude. I had a pretty bad experience all around at SW Brisbane, the PA's were terrible across the board, most bands were too quiet, everyone performed pretty modestly, I was battling a headache all day, my left ear was all fucked up by the end of it (not permanently, thankfully). On top of that, I just got there too early and by the afternoon I couldn't appreciate the music any more. That said, Meshuggah were great (if a bit quiet) and it was cool that they played that new track. I agree that Gojira were great, and DEP was bar none the best live band I've ever seen. Some guy threw a water bottle at Greg, so he pegged the microphone stand into the audience and (apparently) hit him right in the head lol. I'm surprised you didn't see Mastodon, they were the second best of the day. I felt that SOAD played a really shitty set (they're all old and boring now) although they did play Vicinity of Obscenity, which was a highlight for me. Slipknot, though, was like watching a really awful sitcom, good move on your part skipping them.
InFiction 03.03.12	I know what you mean, actually. As much as I enjoyed them I didn't recognize any of their songs. And the only record of theirs I don't have is their most recent EP.

DaveyBoy 03.03.12	Not good Puzzles. I sometimes get the feeling that being 1st up on a festival roadshow is the worst as bands are still jet-lagged & the organisation can be a bit all over the place. For the 4th year in a row, I barely had a criticism of Melbourne's Soundwave... I somehow got through 17 odd bands. Feeling it now though.

InFiction 03.03.12	Ah, I'm sorry about your day Puzzles. I wish I had the foresight of my day's events so then I could have seen Mastodon. And I saw the last 5 mins of Slipknot while I was waiting for Soad. I think they relied too much on stage gimmicks than actual performance. Then again, they've probably always been like that, what with the masks and matching jumpsuits and all.

CrackTheSkye 03.03.12	Went to the Brisbane show and it was pretty good except for the sound at DEP/Underoath, and they were still the two best bands I saw. I hope they bring out fewer bands next year though.
DaveyBoy 03.03.12	Actually, I probably downplayed it, as they always have a lot of punk, hardcore & some straight up rock bands in there as well. There really is something for everyone.

DaveyBoy 03.03.12	I agree with the "fewer bands" comment CTS. The room/area for stage 3b in Melbourne was super small. Great for the smaller bands maybe, but not suitable for everyone that played there.
InFiction 03.03.12	Yeah, I think fewer bands is the way to go. I was rushing around most of the day.

Puzzles 03.03.12	Unless I'm mistaken, Brisbane wasn't the first up, there was a New Zealand show before that. Still, I don't know it would have made a difference

Vooligan 03.03.12	Was a sick day. Dredg started off and fucking killed it. They're amazing. Gojira.. just wow. Lostprophets were a heap of fun. Limp Bizkit were surprisingly good Enter Shikari were one of the best of the day. Slipknot were great. System were amazing. A Day To Remember were stupid amounts of fun. Missed Meshuggah, letlive. and Devin cos I saw them at sidewaves. Just pissed off I missed Dillinger. Oh and Manson was crap, dude can't sing anymore.

Butkuiss 03.03.12	Thursday Kvelertak Letlive Dillinger and Times of Grace were my highlights for the day. All blew me away. SoaD were kind of weak, Devin was good, Gojira and Meshuggah were awesome, Shadows Fall were average, Underoath had shit terrible sound, and Bad Religion were good.
Vooligan 03.03.12	Bad Religion were great until the stage started falling down lol. Devin and Meshuggah ruled at their sidewave.
DaveyBoy 03.03.12	CTS, Dashboard definitely should not have been at that stage. I was way back after getting there just as he came on. Having said that, I saw Conditions on the same stage & they absolutely killed it in the time-slot of death.

Captain North 03.03.12	There was serious sound issues on the main stage at Sydney which made Limp and SOAD pretty boring for me (SOAD were boring anyway I think). Butkuiss, ah man you shoulda gone to the Thursday sideshow. SO much better than at soundwave holycrap. They played Full Collapse extra fast so they could fit in more of their other songs.
Butkuiss 03.03.12	I wanted to go so badly, but I'm on a fucking tight budget at the moment. Another night's worth of transport and food plus a ticket plus the inevitable merch I'd buy was a bit much. :( I heard it was great though. My friend got a pick and the setlist. But ah well. Got some good shots of the band (especially Geoff and Lukas) at SW. Was right on the barrier, so I got into that huge crush when he jumped offstage. And he even replied to my shouting for Turnpike Divides. :')

Butkuiss 03.03.12	Probably my favourite off No Dev, along with Sparks Against the Sun and Millimeter. Such a great record to go out on.

HBFS 03.03.12	letlive was fucking incredible. got front row and got to sing into the mic during one of the songs, same with circa survive.. best soundwave out of the 4 i've been to.. so far. also got smashed in the elbow and almost bit my tongue off during hyro da hero.. there was a lot of blood haha
HBFS 03.03.12	also they probably could have even made soundwave 2 or 3 days this year. i mean there was THAT many bands..

Macros 03.08.12	Dillinger were the best band of the day for me at Soundwave Melbourne. I only went their knowing three of their songs, but i was absolutely staggered by them. Letlive. are just about my favourite band but I thought they suffered from technical issues on occasion throughout their set. When I seen them at the sidewave they did with Enter Shikari and Your Demise however, they were absolutely phenomenal.
HBFS 03.08.12	didn't notice any technical issues from letlive, and i was front row
Butkuiss 03.08.12	Only technical issues at letlive's Sydney show were the copious amounts of microphones and speakers Jason broke.

Macros 03.08.12	Maybe not technical issues as such, but I thought the microphones weren't really working well, and a there was a bit of feedback that was irritating. Maybe I'm just being picky because of how incredible they were on the Tuesday.
