04.24.11 | what I'm saying is that since music is available for free on the internet, artists need to make an extra effort to get people to buy their shit.
1 and 2 do this very well
8 and 9 didn't and it's fucked up since I really went out of my way to find those albums |
Departures
04.24.11 | "it's one of those fold out albums"
Do you mean a 'Digi Pack'? |
somberlain
04.24.11 | @ Departures
yeah but it's only the CD tray and the cover, there's nothing else to it |

04.24.11 | Les Discret's debut has awesome packaging; the booklet is wonderful. The digipak version of Amon Amarth's new album comes with a live dvd with around 30 songs, thought that was pretty cool. |
Departures
04.24.11 | oh that's lame! |
Wolfhorde
04.24.11 | I think there was a pretty similar list not long ago. |
ShadowRemains
04.24.11 | buy it if its worth it |

04.24.11 | @ Wolfhorde

04.24.11 | I don't find these lists that similar since I'm talking about specific albums and their packaging, liner notes, artwork |
Relinquished
04.24.11 | yeah I still buy but I get disappointed too if the booklet is shitty |
foreverendeared
04.24.11 | The topic is what I pointed out as being already covered extensively on other lists. What you wrote about the albums is all good though. |
somberlain
04.24.11 | yeah, I had sen that list, I just wanted to go more in depth with certain albums and their booklets |
foreverendeared
04.24.11 | Yeah, I liked your comments on them. 10,000 Days is pretty cool as well, just for the aesthetic value of it. |
OneMoreRoland
04.24.11 | lol @ this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdIOv4V5Tbg |

04.24.11 | @ OneMoreRoland
that packaging is actually similar the on for Tool's 10,000 days
not a fan of either band but nice to see them putting so much thought and effort into their shit |
EyesWideShut
04.24.11 | I dont mind buying if the albums worth it, but cant stand it when bands like Trap Them and Isis or any heavy band doesnt include the lyrics! |
Hyperion1001
04.24.11 | Some of the most awesome CD's i've bought are from Bal-Sagoth. They literally have an entire books worth of info and stuff in them of old stories and ancient mythologies. I mean, i know that fantasy shit isn't everyones cup of tea, but i love it.
Drudkh has cool stuff too, no lyrics, but regional poems and stuff. |
badhouses
04.24.11 | spending cash on CDs in 2011 is stupid. it's a rapidly dying format and no matter how elaborate the packaging its still just a crappy piece of plastic with a tiny booklet that cost way less to manufacture than what you are paying for it
if its a great album i'll get the vinyl. otherwise just download |
Grimlin
04.24.11 | yeah, i only buy cds if its the only medium pressed. vinyl (and cassettes) all the way. although i just ordered the "playbutton" of mount eerie's winds poem. it was just too weird to pass up. http://www.pwelverumandsun.com/images/playbuttondisplay_large.jpg |
