Buying Vs. Downloading

I still buy CDs because I like having physical copies and I like reading the liner notes but I hate when I go out of my way to buy an album and the artist puts no effort into the packaging. Here are some good and bad examples
1Sage Francis
Personal Journals

Notes on each song, a fascinating thank you list and the centerfold of the booklet is one huge paragraph with song lyrics put in randomly.
2The Roots
Things Fall Apart

Extensive liner notes talking about each individual song. No lyrics but detailed anecdotes of the making of each song
3Burn the Priest
Burn the Priest

Nice artwork in the booklet, the story behind the recording of this album and comments on each band member done by producer/engineer Steve Austin
4Rodrigo y Gabriela
Rodrigo y Gabriela

Since some song titles are in Spanish, they explain what it means and the story behind why they named it that
5Jay-Z
The Blueprint

The CD case with a blue tint to it and the blueprint paper in the booklet are really cool
6Kanye West
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

As far as artwork, he really goes all out, I'm not a huge fan of it but I appreciate the effort, packaging overall is very elaborate
7Brand New
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

"Send $1 to? for a copy of the lyrics" I wonder if anyone actually did this and I wonder what you would get for your dollar. I'm guessing if anyone wants the lyrics they just look them up on the internet
8CunninLynguists
Oneirology

Great album, very nice artwork but zero liner notes only "lyrics available @cunninlynguists.com" you know what else is available on line? This album, for free. Shit like this really pisses me off
9Cecil Otter
Rebel Yellow

Outstanding album, has no CD case, it's one of those fold out albums and just the credits printed on the inside of the cover. I regretted buying it as soon as I saw that since this fucking thing was so hard to find
