05.10.10 | Sure. For a more crazy QOTSA (meaning just totally no-limit crazyness) try Quick and To The Pointless, Six Shooter, and Tension Head. The first two were just jokes, but they are really fun to listen to Nick violently screaming into a mic lol. For more of a soft, ballad QOTSA, try "In The Fade" and "Auto Pilot". They are a surprisingly diverse group. They mostly do Hard Rock, though. My personal favorite songs by them are "Leg of Lamb", "Better Living Through Chemistry", "Song for the Dead", and "Burn The Witch". If you are talking albumwise, for sure get "Songs for the Deaf" first, then get "R". R is much better imo but SFTD is a better starting point. And I don't blame you about not liking them based on their singles, they are usually the weakest. I would say to get their kick-ass debut, but you can't find it nearly anywhere. Just look up on youtube "Mexicola", my mind was blown when I first heard it. |
