Top 3 Genres On My Ipod

Top 3 genres on my ipod and 3 recent digs from each genre.
1Black Metal

Hell yea winter hell yea black metal
2Threnos

Okay well I definitely still give Wolves in the Throne Room credit for influencing the Cascadian black metal scene, Threnos was a band that formed in 2000 that nobody seems to know existed, yet every Cascadian black metal is SO OBVIOUSLY displaying influencing from. Seriously, this scene owes this band (Threnos also released their first ((and only)) demo in 2004, well before the birth of the Cascadian scene in late 08/09.
3Woe

Woe is a fantastic band from Philadelphia. Along with Infernal Stronghold, Woe is one of the best black metal bands on the Philly extreme metal scene. Their new album 'Quietly, Undramatically' is epic and dynamic but also curiously simplistic, something that definitely lends to awesomeness.
4Terzij De Horde

So these guys started out as the less than impressive Liar Liar Cross On Fire but changed their name to Terjiz De Horde and all of sudden got really good, crafting great post-black metal that includes influences from post-rock and screamo.
5Death Metal

riffs riffs riffs riffs riffs riffs riffs riffs riffs riffs riffs riffs riffs
6Demented Ted

Really cool death metal band that incorporates a nice groove in their music. Definite riffs.
7Sickening Gore

Old school death metal band that is pretty underrated. Sickening riffs.
8Sarcophagy

Good straight up death metal. Riffs riffs.
9Ambient

oh so spacey
10Black Swan

I don't know great stuff
11David Tagg

I don't know, great spacey stuff
12WoO

I don't know great, noisy symphonic droning stuff
