Hitchens is probably the smartest rhetorist (not sure if that's a word but it should be). Dennit is the smartest thinker, and Dawkins is the smartest in the field of evolution. So they all have their niches that their best at. My favorite to read and watch debate is Hitchens. Sam is great to listen to explain things because he does so very concisely and understandably. Dennit I can hardly listen to because he's just not a good speaker, but his ideas are great. Dawkins I've probably actually learned the most from. Sorry for the wordy response haha
BigHans 09.08.11	No that makes sense. Ive never tried to hide that I believe in God or a divine being so I cant agree with them at all times, but I do agree with some things they say about religion. I do think Dawkins is a little fruity for my tastes. Hitchens is kind of a badass.

Like some great lectures and mini documentaries that are pretty eye opening. I think people confuse his attitude a bit. Like I hear people say all the time how arrogant he is, but I think he's just really fervent.

IBM is running up close behind Oracle though.Lots of little developers setup for Microsoft or MySQL so small companies can choose between a formal solution or an open source one.The heavy hitters tend to go with Oracle or IBM with Microsoft and the open sources bringing up the rear. I can't even remember the name for the IBM DB solution though so I just went with another opensource. ;^P

BigHans 09.09.11	I dont think Vista is as bad as its reputation. The biggest thing is nothing was compatible with it when it came out. On its own merits, its not a terrible OS, but it will forever be remembered that way. Win7 blows it out of the water though.

Would be a dumb move IMO since Win 7 has a pretty good reputation and sales. I guess historically MS has released a new OS every 3 years, with the exception of XP, which I believe went almost 6
omnipanzer 09.09.11	The compatibility issues with Vista alone were a fucking nightmare. It was a resource hog, it uses almost the same resources as 7 but you got a lot less OS for the price. The Security features were a nightmare for anyone without a decent understanding of computers and for all that effort it was still a virus magnet. Even software compatibility was a joke and I haven't had a single problem with that with 7 yet. 7 has even installed legacy hardware I couldn't find drivers for. The same hardware wouldn't work with vista with the approved manufacturers driver. "Nightmare" man

Yah there was an issue with NT vs FAT back then and you may have just had a bad copy/install. It isn't unusual to have a bad experience with an OS but I'm coming from a tech perspective of many many installs on many many computers over a very large period of time. I'm not faulting you, you really may have had a bad experience but over all 2000 was the best they released to that point. Lots of people swore by 98SE until XP came out mostly due to compatibility issues. 98SE was a really good OS for the time but 2000 had a far better at networking and the NT architecture was far superior as one locked program doesn't crash the whole OS (which was an issue with 98).

Neil Peart wouldn't fit too much with Genesis. etc etc...But if we are convinced that everyone in every band is at his place, it's mostly because our ears are getting used to it. I mean it's pleasant for me to think about some exceptions if you give an effort; I dont have any trouble to imagine Neil Peart playing for Deep Purple. Same for Ian Paice playing for Rush. So THERE are exceptions to the rule.
