|Biggest Disappointments 2015|
An unusual amount of albums I was looking forward to didn't meet the hype this year...and here's me crying about it! (In no particular order)
|1||Good Old War|
Broken Into Better Shape
After losing a founding member, this album really just didn't create any sort of excitement. 1 or 2 good songs here and there, but painfully average overall.
|2||Death Cab for Cutie|
I initially found this really dull, but some tracks have really grown on me since then. Overall, though, just way too subdued to go back to often. Death Cab albums have always been highlights of the year, but this one falls short.
|3||The Tallest Man on Earth|
Dark Bird Is Home
I would probably say this is THE most disappointing album of the year, but it's certainly not a bad album by any means. The change of style doesn't really jive with me as I find the personable, intimate, fragile style of his "solo" stuff to be lost here. I find the production to be really weak as well. Again, a good track here and there, but nothing to sit through repeatedly.
|4||The Story So Far|
The Story So Far
They toned it down for this album, and what I loved most of their previous album was the metallic edge and speedy riffs. More melodic and catchy, but the energy is lost.
|5||Being As an Ocean|
Being As an Ocean
Another self-titled that was just toned down and not edgy/energetic as their previous.
Really just comes off as experimental demos...it's great that he dabbles and experiments with different sounds and approaches, but this is just way too self-indulgent and aimless.
|7||Ghostface Killah and BADBADNOTGOOD|
Instrumentals are not as good as BBNG's solo stuff, and Ghostface rapping is just okay. The whole thing is just "sure, whatever".
Saw this coming with her thrust onto the top 40 charts, but she went from interesting indie/folk flavoured pop to complete mainstream, paint-by-numbers offerings.
|Haven't heard 8 but your description actually makes me want to. Her old songs always had shitty production imo, I would much rather hear her voice in songs without annoying half-assed attempts at being indie. Agree on 7|
|7 is one of my favorite albums of the year, but I understand why people don't care for it. I shuffle it with BBNG III at least once a week. I think the biggest disappointment for me was TPAB, honestly, but we all know how (mostly) everyone else feels about it.|
|Yeah TPAB was disappointing for me a bit as it wasn't as good as GKMC, but I wasn't particularly hyped about it to care that much either. |
|I would throw in Title Fight - Hyperview as well|
|disagree hard with 4|
new deafheaven wasn't sunbather pt. 2 so yea that
|Top 10 Most Disappointing - Faith No More, Hot Chip, Beach House (twice lol), Wilco, Half Moon Run, Refused, My Morning Jacket, The Prodigy, Disclosure and the Fear Factory was absolutely horrific|
|ellie goulding has always been bad|
|Solid list. Also, Young Guns|
|disagree hard on 3|
|Agree with 6 but never really expect anything to come out he just releases it whenever so its not like theres a build up then a letdown. Id put Denzel Curry up.|
|yeah 3 was great hardly a disappointment|
|Yeah 3 was great, not his best but I still enjoyed it. Denzel Curry was what I expected tbh, some great tracks and some decent ones |
|ohhh refused good shout|
allthough i never expected it to be any good to be fair
|I enjoyed 2, it was a step up from Codes and Keys at least though definitely subpar for Death Cab.|
|Four was fucking garbage. |
|The Libertines come back for sure, but it might be a grower.|
|ellie goulding has always been bad |
My most disappointing has been Fightstar, followed by A Forest of Stars. Neither are bad, but I had such high hopes for both.
|Yeah, Delirium's probably her weakest one she's dropped so far, and this is coming from someone who actually likes most of her stuff a lil' bit. But my most disappointing was actually the newest one from Cannibal Ox, Blade of the Ronin. Considering how great their debut was, that album was pretty goddamn underwhelming to me. |
I'd say Owl City's Mobile Orchestra, but there's a difference between most disappointing & one of the worst of the year, so there's that.
|The correct answer is justin bieber|
Nothing else matters fuck
