| Thank You Sputnik
these are some bands that the sputnik community has introduced me to while i've been a member. | | 1 | | August Burns Red Messengers
i originally started liking metalcore, because of As I Lay Dying, but these guy are far superior IMO. plus being a Christian, the lyrics mean alot more. | | 2 | | Brand New Daisy
not the kind of music i generally listen to, but loved them anyway. | | 3 | | Converge No Heroes
i was blown away by their intense sound, and technical precision, reminds me a lot od DEP. | | 4 | | Isis Panopticon
this band was exactly what i thought they would be. epic. | | 5 | | Misery Signals Controller
i really like the melodic and atmospheric sound of this band, even if the vocals took some getting used to | | 6 | | The Shizit The Shizit
this was my first industrial band, and i couldnt ask for a better way to start my journey into that genre | | 7 | | Thrice The Artist In The Ambulance
i had always heard of them, but never bought one of their albums until i heard you guys freakin out about Artist in the Ambulance. turns out it really is that good. | | 8 | | Gospel The Moon is A Dead World
i still hate pretty much everything else in this genre, but for some reason this band is magical | |
ECRbubs

01.02.10 | way to take the easy way out. good for you! | Skimaskcheck
01.02.10 | 8 is definitely pure genius, you should delve further into the genre though, there'd surely be something you'd like | DiceMan
01.02.10 | If you haven't already, check out Godspeed You! Black Emperor. It's more magical than anything else on this list. | ckypro3
01.03.10 | will def check them out, thanks. | Dreamsoffew
01.03.10 | I'm really digging Gospel at the moment, any bands like them I should check out? | redskyformiles

01.03.10 | Heard of them, probably from this site actually. I'll look into it, thanks Stan :) | ScorpionStan
01.03.10 | haha no kidding YouAreMySilence, this sight is a gold mine.
no problem Mel ;) At The Drive-In and Circle Takes The Square are pretty similar too, but you prolly already knew that, since they're a bit more popular lol. | Dreamsoffew
01.03.10 | Already got both of them haha. | Powerban
01.03.10 | As for bands you should listen to which you might like if you like Isis (all bands have links to songs and are good starting points):
Neurosis: no Isis without Neurosis
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaxNnoKrK9o
Cult Of Luna: probably the most similar band to Isis without getting into the lesser known bands like Ganon etc.
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-euOmZLikvc
Rosetta: considering you like some brutal, think about what would happen if isis got more brutal but somehow got more brutal in space.
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoEY5NoaMuw
Russian Circles: instrumental band that is similar to Isis but chucks in some neat headbangable riffs.
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s92DwkAjVqk
Pelican: same as above but less headbanggery
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOfLvBq9ggg
That covers most of the main bands, People will surely add some others. Give us a shout if you want more recs for post-metal. | Vooligan
01.03.10 | Defs check out Rosetta, they're one of my favourite bands.
Also, have a listen to Eleventh He Reaches London. They're kind of what you'd get if you combined Brand New with Isis. But they still sound totally unique. You can get their latest album free and legally, the links in my review of them. |
