Best Albums Of 2009

A bit late but better than never... these are the albums that i've looked forward to and enjoyed over the last year.
10Chimaira
The Infection

Chimaira this time round decided that speed was not everything and opted for slow and sludgy which make the whole sound of the album heavier than ever before, at times knocking of the death metal door but still maintaining the chimaira sound, brilliant new direction.
9Scar Symmetry
Dark Matter Dimensions

After losing their singer, its become obvious how talented he truly was due to the fact that he was replaced by TWO singers, one for the melodic singing and the other for the growls but the album is very much one that is in par with the last one which was a masterpiece and they have done well to cope with the changes.
8Rammstein
Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da

What is the first thing these guys do on their well anticipated return? They go and release a porn video for their first single of this album and cause mayhem and controversy, even this late into their career, they never lost their sense of humour and this is a solid album, again, nothing has changed musically, very German, very Rammstein to me!
7Throwdown
Deathless

Never been a big fan of these guys in their past, they were your average typical hardcore band but they have gone in a very Pantera direction and the singer for the first time on this album starts using clean vocals!!! Who knew he could sing!?!? Love those vocals and the guitars are awesome!!
6Forever Never
Forever Never

And representing England: we have Forever Never from Essex! Spoke to them few times and they are sound!!! I would go and say that they are the UK?s version of Sevendust and a singer who can replicate the same vocals that?s on their CD on stage live.
5Skindred
Shark Bites and Dog Fights

This is a very unique band that blends all sorts of genres and there?s nothing like them out there in the world! They released a mini-album full of pumping tunes for the masses to rock out AND to dance to! Extremely catchy!
4mudvayne
mudvayne

Well it only has been over a year since The New Game and now we have the new one, still fresh as it just come out couple months ago, they decided to go back a little to explore what they have left behind, the songs are well structured and well written, some the best Mudvayne songs can easily be found on this release... explaining the self titled.
3Devildriver
Pray For Villains

The power of this band is just immense!! For this release only, they have decided to experiment a little and go for something that was out of their elements and it works to a certain extent but not always, the reason why this is at 3 is because of those true Devildriver songs alone deserve to be recognised, roll on the next album!! Apparently it?s all going to be faster!
2Divine Heresy
Bringer of Plagues

Crushing! ;)
1Arkaea
Years in the Darkness

This album is by no means perfect but just what i was hoping for from the ex-Fear Factory members to do and it does live up to my expectations and things will surely get better from here onwards if they don't give up. Excellent Debut!
