Rashandarei's Top 5 EP's/Splits Of 2010

List for them shorter things is appropriately... short.
5Frank Turner
Rock & Roll

Rock & Roll is not Frank Turner's best piece of work by any means, but he has a charming voice and great delivery, which makes this fun to listen to nonetheless. I've recently gotten into this guy and I'm incredibly impressed by him. Even his weakest lyrics are intriguing and attention-grabbing.
4Circa Survive
Appendage

Appendage is basically Blue Sky Noise with a more upbeat attitude, and that is more than fine as far as I'm concerned. It was just good to get more good music from Circa Survive, I especially like Stare Like You'll Stay.
3The Tallest Man on Earth
Sometimes The Blues Is Just A Passing Bird

It's basically the same deal here as with Circa Survive; more good music from one of my favorite artists of the year. And while this does make me incredibly unoriginal and probably pretty boring for not finding some new and exciting EP, Matsson just captivates me and the softer, more restrained sound more akin to Shallow Grave made this a treat to find later in the year.
2Mae
(e)vening

Holy beautiful music alert. This one came out of nowhere for me and reluctantly made me change my top three EP's of the year. Such a soft and sweet sound from a band I honestly didn't expect much from. An excellent return to form for Mae, and I'll definitely be watching more closely for their future endeavors.
1Touche Amore/La Dispute
Searching for a Pulse/The Worth of the World

Oh so fun and oh so awesome. This is everything you'd hope for from these two bands and more. It's extremely short, but this split is proof as to why Touche Amore and La Dispute deserve the fan base that they are currently accumulating. Dreyer slays here even in his guest spots. I find myself coming back to this short split often as it's the perfect quick dose of awesomeness for any tired day.
