09.22.10 | Hitchcock a master, so ahead of his time. |
omgbecky
09.22.10 | Watched Strangers on a Train for class. It was pretty awesome. |
kangaroopoo
09.22.10 | Too right. I've got most on DVD. Rarely made an average film. |
omgbecky
09.22.10 | Gonna have to watch at least some of these, someday. |
kangaroopoo
09.22.10 | Old movies for me can feel dated and boring but most of his films just draw you in with the suspense and intrigue. Plots are so clever. |
omgbecky
09.22.10 | I know. I had to watch Singing in the Rain last week. Most boring movie ever. |
kangaroopoo
09.22.10 | Acclaimed film but I actually haven't sat through it. Most musicals grate on me quickly. |
SpottedTrout
09.22.10 | Psycho and The Birds are the only Hitchcock films i've seen. |
ButcheredChildren
09.22.10 | I remember studying hitchcock in film studies, but on another note...
M. Night Shamaylan (however you spell his name) is such a disappointment these days. Unbreakable, Signs and the Sixth Sense were brilliant but Village, Lady in the Water, the Happening & the recent Devil is all garbage, wtf happened to that guy |
omgbecky
09.22.10 | I know, the musical sequences lasted way too long. It reminded me of family guy. Also, just notice your profile pic. Made me laugh.
@ ButcheredChildren - are you a film major? |
DiceMan
09.22.10 | Hitchcock is good. |
ButcheredChildren
09.22.10 | @omgbecky no I study movies recreationally, I'm actually a rediculous movie nerd |
kangaroopoo
09.22.10 | -Pyscho + Birds are his horror ones
-Agree with M. Night's drop off. 'Sixth Sense' brilliant.

09.22.10 | Rope's my favorite. |
omgbecky
09.22.10 | @ Butchered - Sweet, I wish I were more of a movie nerd.
@ Kangaroopoo - oh. it's a football thing. cute nonetheless |
ButcheredChildren
09.22.10 | @omgbecky meh whenever you need a rec just give me a genre and i'll send you a url for a torrent |
omgbecky
09.22.10 | Sweet. Thanks, will do. |
kangaroopoo
09.22.10 | - 'You Suffer' tests the patience
- 'Rope' - love how Jimmy Stewart grinds them down
- Yeah, footy's part of it but pic sums me up, and it has a bit of a cute/lol factor |

09.22.10 | Hitchcock is a master. |

09.22.10 | Damn straight Ovrot. |

10.08.10 | Alfred Hitchcock is amazing. |

10.08.10 | Could do with Strangers On A Train, but great list. And i'm happy that North By Northwest isn't at the top spot here (unless this list isn't ranked). Its a great film and all, but a tad overrated |
kangaroopoo
10.08.10 | Yeah Strangers another great. It is ranked and agree I was a bit disappointed with Northwest the first time I saw it after all the fanfare around it. Have to see it again and see if it's top 10 worthy. |
Deviant.
10.08.10 | I think, for me, its lost a bit of its spark because its been so widely parodied. The fight on Mt Rushmore and the plan chasing the guy in the fields have become staples of pop culture sadly |
foreverendeared
10.08.10 | psycho is overrated. It's pretty influential, but one of Hitchcock's worst imo |
kangaroopoo
10.08.10 | Unfortunately some films can lose their edge after being parodied. Silence of the Lambs is one of my
all time faves but over overexposure, widespread referencing and ending up in spoof movies has
tarnished it. |
foreverendeared
10.08.10 | Yeah I see your point, I ignore those things for the most part though. All the parodies of Silence of the Lambs hasn't affected my love for that movie. |
Deviant.
10.08.10 | I never really saw the big deal about Silence Of The Lambs honestly. Good movie and all but just that, nothing more |
Asiatic667
10.08.10 | Strangers on A Train is just ONE BIG PLOTHOLE. Really not very good. Rear window's probably his best |
kangaroopoo
10.08.10 | Pyscho really affected me when I first saw it. That's just stuck with me. Very creepy, particularly for its time.
I'd still probably rank Silence no.1, but the liver/fava beans/chianti scene got butchered so many times. As long as I really settle in to watch it from the get go, the movie will consume me. |
