SitarHero 08.23.12	Tupac = Dylan The poet laureate of his time. Some will say that he lacked talent (Dylan can't sing, Tupac can't flow) but the words outweigh the delivery.

ReturnToRock 08.23.12	Green Day = Beach Boys. Feel-good, juvenile, melodious group who achieved a few hits early on, tried to go serious midway through their career, produced a magnum opus (Pet Sounds/American Idiot), then began a steady, progressive. descent into ludicrousness.

newjunkaesthetic93 08.23.12	This list would suggest the 90's were a watered down version of the 60's, as none of the 90's bands listed compare very favorably to their sixties counterpart. Plus, none of these bands even have very similar sounds.

rotterdog 08.23.12	From a purely musical standpoint, Nirvana actually reminds me more of the Beatles. Mostly because of Kurt's catchy but interesting melodies. And because of the way they brought a previously underground genre into the mainstream.

Also "The Doors:- Somewhat overrated (musically) pseudo-blues band" lol, have you ever listened to The Doors?

It's more about certain artists occupying similar cultural and artistic space at different times. "The more you know about both bands the more your reasoning completely falls apart." I compared Cobain and Hendrix. I would think that made the non-serious analytic nature of the list obvious.
ReturnToRock 08.24.12	All I was saying was that Idiot occupies the same spot in the GD discography than Pet Sounds does on the Beach Boys discog. And GD hate is so 2004.
