Steven Wilson (solo stuff)
The Sound of Animals Fighting maybe
Already got oceansize, amplifier, steve wilson, coheed and similar bands. Got pelican recently, seem pretty good. Im looking for a more the metal side of things. Prob shoodnt have listed a few of the bands i did.
I should rephrase, i pretty much only like clean vocals with the occasional shout. So for opeth - watershed, most of ghost reveries.
Im also enjoying Communic atm
Camel, Rush, and Yes.
Traced In Air by Cynic for sure.
Check out Mandala by the RX Bandits as well, I bet you'd dig it.
Exivious, kinda like Cynic but it's instrumental
And So I Watch You From Afar - And So I Watch You From Afar
Listen to Set Guitars to Kill, I always thought the intro sounded like a Tool song...
Give Dan Swano - Moontower a try, it has harsh vocals, but the music is very prog. If you like Opeth you'll probably dig it.
If you end up enjoying that, check out anything by Edge of Sanity.
Try Exotic Animal Petting Zoo - I Have Made My Bed in Darkness
Karnivool - Sound Awake for the more rock/prog sound
Try out Neurosis and Isis for post-metal
You would probably dig Parhelia - First Light EP and 5ive - Hesperus if you like Pelican
Karnivool - Sound Awake
The Butterfly Effect - Begins Here
Cog - The New Normal
Dead Letter Circus - Dead Letter Circus
Jericco - Jericco
(Sleep Parade has supported/played with all of these bands)
Cog - Sharing Space
Portal - Blood Red Tape
Braintoy - Vehicles
Riverside - Anno Domini High Definition
already got all the aussie bands :) didnt like new karnivool that much, apart from a couple good songs.
i thought i listed riverside, obviously not. got portal, there alrite, should probably listen 2 them more
thanks for all the recs.
Operation Mindcrime - Queensryche
Good list - I'm a big fan of your top 4.
Check out "Lazarus Bird" by Burst. They are a progressive post-metal band.
You might also like Zero Hour - they are a heavier prog metal band with clean vocals. They've gone through a few different vocalists, but they are all good, so it doesn't really matter which album you start with.
maudlin of the Well and if you like that, Kayo Dot.
orphaned land - mabool
Coheed and Cambria: IKSoSE3
Burst: Lazarus Bird
newbreed: Child of the Sun
Lady Radiator: Bounce Energy Hear Me Out
Cynic: Traced in Air
