"emo" Bands That Don't Sound Their Apparent Genre

Yeah, I've been thinking today about how a bunch of 'emo' bands don't sound like emotional hardcore.
1Circle Takes the Square

I'm not saying these guys aren't great, because they are. But if you listen to these guys and compare them to a large number of screamo bands, they seem out of place in the genre. Screamo/emo influenced maybe, but moar like Mathcore or Progressive Metal with skramz influence.
2Touche Amore

Again, a great band. But they seem really just like Hardcore-Punk that's listened to emo in their day, but still in the Hardcore-Punk stage.
3Envy

Srsly. This is just ambient Metal who uses some emo and post-hardcore chord progressions at times to have that label slapped on them.
4Heaven in Her Arms

More like Heaven in her Envy. Yeah, I used the same joke but switched it up to keep it "fresh"
5Hot Cross

I miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight be willing to accept this as emo. But if it was, it'd have to be the most god damned poppy skramz out their.
6Maths

These guys are awesome, but totally just Emo-influenced Post-Hardcore :x
7Spires

Kind of a fun band, but sound more on the Mathcore-ish side. Or at least ?Post-Hardcore with Emo and Thrash influence.
8Cap'n Jazz

It's own genre.
9Sunny Day Real Estate

See above.
