Fucking incredible. Met so many great people, listened to so much
awesome music and drank copious amounts of booze. Epic shit.
Not just the best show of the entire festival but probably the best i've had
the pleasure of attending. Simply mindblowingly good. Played all their best
songs (apart from In The Back Seat >:[ ) in an epic set. Amazing.
The Blue Album
There was a lot of speculation as to what material they would play and
while they played not a single song from Pinkerton and missed many of
their best songs (Only In Dreams, In The Garage etc), this show was
fucking amazing. Rivers was the man
|3|| ||Frank Turner|
Love Ire and Song
Fuck, i suppose Frank is also a close joint 2nd. This guy is just a natural
show man and his usually infectious songs were turned into nothing less
Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
The atmosphere in the NME tent was great, the light show was fucking
trippy. 1901 was so fucking good.
|5||Queens of the Stone Age|
Songs For The Deaf
Even though i had never listened to this band before the festival i was
completely enticed by the strength of their set. One intense show.
|6|| ||Gaslight Anthem|
The '59 Sound
It took a couple songs for Fallon to get into the groove but once he did the
band owned the stage. The '59 Sound was such a good ending to the set.
Romance is Boring
Would have enjoyed this infinitely more if they played more off Romance is
Boring as I?m not familiar with any of their other stuff, which seemed to be
in contrary with the rest of the crowd. As it stood The Sea is a Good Place
The Artist in the Ambulance
Not enough IoS and TAitA for my liking but still a very solid show indeed.
|9|| ||Gogol Bordello |
Very energetic, very fun to watch.
|10|| ||Magnetic Man|
The Moon & Antarctica
Didn?t play very much at all that I recognised, it was okay
|12||Dizzee Rascal |
Boy in Da Corner
Cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit was bare lols, in the good way.
I?ve never been a huge of them and so being surrounded by 100,000 fan
boys and Tom Delonge?s whiny piece of shit voice intruding my ears I can?t
say I enjoyed them immensely.
|14|| ||Young Guns|
Whatever shitty album they have
Wet for the lols but none where had. Terrible.
Somewhere in the Between
Yet another brilliant set.
|Young Guns are awesome! Check out the CD|
|Was pretty unhappy that Miike Snow dropped out and that i missed bands through being too drunk etc, but whatever. So fucking good.|
|That's a good line-up, 1 thru 8 anyways.|
|I'm having a hard time thinking if anyone i've ever seen were anywhere near as sublime as Arcade Fire.|
2, 3, 5, 7 and 8 definitely killed it too like you said!
Was gutted about 6 though; not playing any Sink or Swim like they did last year, replaced with a bunch of American Slang but ah well
|Sounds like you had a great time Gherkin. Good stuff. Hoping to see 1, 2, 5 & 6 in the new year.|
|Dude, totally forgot to put Streetlight on this list! Let me edit that in. Dave that might be the biggest understatement i have ever heard haha. Where you seein AF? I know they're doing an arena tour around christmas, contemplating going but i really don't i'll have the money after the festival.|
|Unfortunately AF have not yet listed tour dates for down under, but I'm certain they will be here some time.|
|sounds like you had a great time, man!|
Arcade Fire were indeed incredible
just out of interest, where would you have placed Streetlight if they were in order as well?
here's my list of the festival http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=237901
|saw some of arcade fires set on tv, it was awesome|
|yeah i went to leeds and they were excellent, as were weezer and qotsa|
|read at a festival|
|craigy - i think i'd place them at 6 , ahead of gaslight and behind qotsa. |
anyone as sad as me and still has the wristband on?
|yaaaaa, i still have the one from last year on too, i'm a loser|
