Tech Death

A list of some of my favorite tech-death bands at the moment. In a general order of preference for now.
1Arsis
We are the Nightmare

Technical, melodic, brutal, classical-- all the elements of excellence.
2The Faceless
Akeldama

So many crazy songs on this album, so varied, so entertaining.
3Necrophagist
Onset of Putrefaction

This is Muhammad Suicmez making guitars scream in pleasure. Wildly mesmerizing.
4Meshuggah
ObZen

Off-kilter shifting time signatures combined with crushing brutality and speed make this a top pick.
5Neuraxis
The Thin Line Between

Melodic and progressive, this is the culmination of this band's work thus far.
6Beneath the Massacre
Mechanics of Dysfunction

The guitars are absolutely out of this world, and the drumming is like a machine gun that shoots lazers. This is what evil robots would listen to if they controlled the world.
7Psycroptic
Ob(servant)

This should actually be #4 but I'm too lazy to change it. This album features some of the most thrilling grooves ever to come from a tech-death album. Also it generally just kicks ass, too.
8Woe of Tyrants
Kingdom of Might

Very fun to listen to; melodic and fast-paced. Also a nice element of classic power-metal helps out.
9Origin
Antithesis

Insanely fast and technically unrivaled, Origin's only weakness is lack of variation and hook-y-ness.
