07.25.12 | I have no idea how to remove the rest. 25 was a ballpark guess that I thought was fairly close.
Also, I probably never plan on going back to another metal show for the foreseeable future. I felt so out of place and better than everyone else. The latter part is questionable, but I really did not enjoy the environment. |
YankeeDudel
07.25.12 | You felt better than everyone else? Thats how I always feel bro high five |
Rikardur
07.25.12 | High-five returned. |

07.25.12 | Metal is just a phase for angry outcast tweens who get no pussy. Every self respecting man grows out of it a little bit someday as they mature to the world and starts jammin indie pop. |
Rikardur
07.25.12 | All about that indie pop. Also, god damn it Sputnik, stop putting r's in my words. |
YankeeDudel
07.25.12 | Shit yea man Passion Pit is all the m/ I need these days |
Rikardur
07.25.12 | It's harder than that new Periphery. |

"Metal is just a phase for angry outcast tweens who get no pussy."
i'm definitely no angry outcast who gets laid pretty much every night!! |
AngelofDeath
07.25.12 | Hmm, the first time I saw Agalloch was probably my favorite show I've ever seen. |
Rikardur
07.25.12 | My favourite metal show was probably Immolation.
Non-metal? Would be very tough to answer that. |

i don't fit this at all. Have you considered that some people just like good music for good music regardless of anything else. I have friends on the footbal team who are straight metal heads. Are they "outcasted teens who get no pussy?" |
TheFonz123
07.25.12 | also the national were amazing live I reccomend everyone see them. |
cvlts
07.25.12 | $22? jeez, saw them for 11 when they came to seattle. probably made the experience a lot more enjoyable |
YankeeDudel
07.25.12 | Fonzie your sarcasm detector is busted |
TheFonz123
07.25.12 | O haha my bad dude and you're right I totally thought you were being serious there wow |
JordanS
07.25.12 | What is the deal with the Faustian Echoes vinyl? Are they limiting the number per show or running low? I want to make sure I get there early enough to pick it up tomorrow. |
Rikardur
07.25.12 | @TheFonz: Oh man, definitely a show to remember forever. I only wished Matt Berninger took his daily crowd stroll past me so I could have stroked his beard.
@JordanS: I really don't think they are running low. You should be fine. My friend waited till the end to pick it up and had no problem. |
Wolfhorde
07.25.12 | Sound technicians on metal concerts do kind of have a tendency to screw up. |
Emyay
07.25.12 | I'm with Angel and MO. Saw them in atlanta last year i believe, and this year my friend is coming down here to nola. Seeing them next friday. 'metal is just a phase for angry outcast tweens who get no pussy' lol you talking about pop punk dog. |
HitlerIsTheBest
07.25.12 | agalloch rules but theyre not a band i would want to see live. |
Emyay
07.25.12 | why not? they rule live too. they burn that incense dog. |
Pentagon
07.25.12 | 'I hope to god he never says that to me.'
hahaha |
VisionsFromTheDarkSide
07.25.12 | Yeah Agalloch don't strike me as a very good live band, which is a shame considering how good their studio work is |
Emyay
07.26.12 | except they are a good live band, so....yeah |
Funeralopolis
07.26.12 | walked out on We Came As Romans live, worst live performance I had ever seen. |
Crysis
07.26.12 | I've heard from many different people that Agalloch either rule live or are boring live. Don't know who to believe. |
Emyay
07.26.12 | i guess it depends on what you're looking for in a performance. if you want a shitload of movement and energy, then you're not gonna be happy. they do play with an obvious passion, however. they burn incense which is kinda cool, sets the atmosphere imo. they usually play small venues in the states which imo is definitely a positive. i was able to get up close and personal. jon talks to the crowd a bit, and is courteous and gracious, but you can tell he's shy as all hell. he nails the harsh vocals, and comes close with the cleans. musically they are very tight. they don't have many solos, but Don (i think thats his name) crushes them. great guitarist imo. i've only seen them once, and like i said, i'm seeing them again next friday so i guess we'll see. sorry for the long post, just wanted to throw out some observations/opinions |
Rikardur
07.26.12 | @Crysis: It was really polar with the people I went with too. I, and a friend I left with, really didn't enjoy it. The friends of ours who stayed loved the shit out of their performance and went on about it all day the next day on facebook and whatnot.
@Emyay: They are very talented but I just couldn't feel the music that night. That's what I need...to feel the music and connect on some level. Didn't happen, but I'm not going to write the band off as shitty because of it, and perhaps it was really the venue that messed everything up...who knows. |
Emyay
07.26.12 | yeah i mean, i can't say that they are objectively an awesome live band or anything. if you didnt like it, you didnt like it. i was just throwing some things out there to give some folks who may have never seen them a bit of an idea of how it is. i will say this though, shitty sound can definitely kill a good live performance. you're definitely going to need good sound to enjoy this band live. otherwise, its just a bunch of awkward looking dudes standing around jerking their instruments off. |
