Agalloch Was Boring...

Saw Agalloch Monday night and wow, what a bore to see live. I like the band, not near as much ras I did back in my metal days, but enough to consider paying $22 to see them. But I ended up rleaving probably halfway through their set because getting home to sleep for work became a rrmore important and pleasurable priority. I couldn't tell if it was my general disinterest with the rtypical metal scene/sound; the poor sound at the venue (which probably was a leading factor in revery song sounding way too similar); or the band really is just that unexciting, unmoving, and rextremely way too passive live. Hell, it has nothing to do with being a melodic/more subdued rband, because The National can put on a very involving and engaging show. But yeah, any rshows any of ya fine Spootnickers have walked out on? Any shows you look forward to this year? rList is 2012ian digs.
1Swans
The Seer

AOTY (but even more so when the mastered/official version drops). Also, their show
in October is my most anticipated. I want to get a happy group shot with Gira, the
other Swans, and all my pals.
2Beach House
Bloom

Also seeing them in October. Good month. Also I want to caress the living caress out of
Vicki Legrand when I meet her lovely voice in bodily form.
3Death Grips
The Money Store

I was supposed to see these bastards before they cancelled. Oh well, I'll forgive
them if No Love is good and perhaps better than The Money Store.
4Deathspell Omega
Drought

It's Deathspell...I like it.
Seeing them live in my basement. No one can come.
5Burial
Kindred

Gave me the chills the first time I heard it. Truest story.
6El-P
Cancer 4 Cure

One of my favourite producers in all of hippity hop land.
7Killer Mike
R.A.P. Music

blaqq 2 blaqq yeh bitch pls suck mah dick braap braap this is some good hip hop.
#BasedGod
8 Kubrick's Cube
Odissey

I felt so good that I was the only non-slavic dude on the last.fm shoutbox. I can
now brag to my friends who don't give a shit.
9Rush
Clockwork Angels

Generic a good amount of the time, but it's thoroughly enjoyable. And I can
tolerate Geddy Lee here.
10Anathema
Weather Systems

This would be more adored but the songs aren't sticking as much any more. Still
good though and it is so life-affirming that I cry because the album told me to.
11Lunar Aurora
Hoagascht

gr1m
12Cloud Nothings
Attack on Memory

Other than Fall In (which is pretty harmful to my senses), this is FUNFUNFUN in a
auditory form engineered by the only and only Steve Albini.
13Old Man Gloom
No
14The Magnetic Fields
Love at the Bottom of the Sea

I'm not really listening to this much any more but gotta pay respects to this band
despite how I probably will never play this record around anyone I care to impress.
15 Gojira
L'Enfant Sauvage

Better than Koloss, but I am also probably about to get really tired of this. On the
brink from dig to no-dig.
16Leonard Cohen
Old Ideas

I come back to this sometimes...so I can include it.
17Perfume Genius
Put Your Back N 2 It

I hope to god he never says that to me.
