11.17.09 | i tend to have a hard on for this kind of shit. & i've heard that a lot of Crust bands incorporate this theme into their lyrics/music as well, so any recs would be appreciated.
also, i have no idea wtf is up with 9's artwork. |

11.17.09 | The Stand by Stephen King.
even if you hate the man, you still owe it to yourself to read that book. |
DiceMan
11.17.09 | The Road by Cormac McCarthy is pretty much the best it gets. |

11.17.09 | the roa---oh shit

11.17.09 | that book was pretty much the inspiration behind this thread, coupled w/ Gospel. |
DiceMan
11.17.09 | lol... The Stand is good just don't read the extended version it is full of like 400 pages of bullshit and made me want to stab my eyes out at points. You know, it includes the shit that was removed because it made the book really really really really really really slow. |

11.17.09 | was thinking about getting Swan Song, but will probably now check that out as well. |

11.17.09 | lol, that's the version i read. i dunno tho, i think that 400 pages of extra bullshit adds a whole lot of depth. |

11.17.09 | ya the extended version has its flaws. I recommend reading the original first and if you really like it check out the extended uncut version. It's a whole lot different, maybe not in terms of plot but in terms of setting and other small nuances. |

11.17.09 | Best King book is Needful Things or the Desperation books. Easily. |

11.17.09 | i feel like an idiot but i've never read a king book. just not a huge reader i guess. i know the stories of it, the shining, and misery though. |

11.17.09 | ive only read cell by stephen king |

11.17.09 | Its cliche, but my favorite King books are definitely the dark tower series. |
DiceMan
11.17.09 | Yeah IT comes really close to the others but it just doesn't have the huge buildup and explosive ending that Needful Things does. It's incredibly tense at many parts which I really enjoyed cause I could barely put it down. Cell was good, but he has written a lot of shit that's really good. I could never get into those tower books like The Gunslinger and stuff though. |

11.17.09 | Endgame by Derrick Jenson
History of Bestiality trilogy by Jens Bjørneboe
