| Shows That Would Be Awesome In Asheville
I just went and saw Anberlin, Circa Survive and Foxy Shazam last night at the Orange Peel in rrdowntown Asheville, NC and it was an awesome night. Against Me! will be playing on rrWednesday, so I'll be going to that too. Usually Asheville is missed on the touring circuit, so rhere rare some bands that I think would do really well if they came here. | | 1 | | P.O.S. Never Better
P.O.S. would be really appreciated in Asheville, since the city values uniqueness and holds pride in it's music
scene. | | 2 | | A Day to Remember What Separates Me From You
A now broken up band from Asheville, named Secret Lives of the Freemasons, was signed to Victory and are
still listed as friends of ADTR in their thank you notes. The crowd turn out to a Secret Lives show was decent
as well, so I think ADTR would do really well. | | 3 | | Death Cab for Cutie Transatlanticism
Death Cab, besides being very popular, would be a solid fit because they accurately fit the chill and laidback
atmosphere of the city. | | 4 | | The Chemical Brothers Further
Moog Fest was held in Asheville this past year, which celebrated the synth company. Ba nds like MGMT, Girl
Talk and Big Boi performed and the city fucking loved it. Plus, the hippies (which we have a ton of) would
totally dig it. | | 5 | | Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Kind of follows the same description as Death Cab, even though both bands are completely different.
Asheville would definately appreciate the indie sound of Brand New, plus I'd love to see them live myself. | | 6 | | Atmosphere God Loves Ugly
Indie rock is not the only thing appreciated in Asheville, as indie rap/alt hip hop would also do pretty well in a
small venue. | | 7 | | Horse the Band Desperate Living
Because asheville loves random and crazy stuff, people would eat up Horse. Foxy shazam was fucking wild
yesterday, so I can only imagine what Horse would end up doing on stage. Plus, Asheville has a pretty solid
metal scene. | | 8 | | Listener Wooden Heart
Not well known, but Listner would be appreciated because of the folk/alternative sound they bring to the table. | | 9 | | Mumford & Sons Sigh No More
This band is hot right now, so I wouldn't expect them to stop in rural western NC, but if they did, it would
easily sell out. | | 10 | | Thrice Beggars
Thrice rocks, and would attract everyone in Asheville who appreciates their heavier, older work, as well as their
more relaxed work current efforts, like Beggars. | |

01.17.11 | awesome, man. i wanted to go to that show but i had to work :( | quicksilver050
01.17.11 | ObeyTheCowGod - Dude, hell yeah Defeater is sick. I'd go to that if we could pull more than a few decent shows in Asheville. Maybe I'll try and catch them in Atlanta if they stop there in the summer
Spec - Yeah for all the shows and different bands I've seen over the years, Foxy Shazam may have just blown them all out of the water. I mean Eric, the lead singer, puffed four cigarettes at one point and, while still lit, ate them. Anthony Green laughed about it later by asking how he could follow that shit up lol. There was a whole bunch of other crazy stuff that happened that can't be given just by using words.
Observer - Dang man, I was impressed with Foxy, enjoyed Circa and found Anberlin to be good, yet a little boring.
