welcome to sputnik, dude!
I thought 3 was very weak when it comes to the concept. the music isn't bad though - but all the rest here is brilliant!
don't know what albums you already have, but if you don't have them yet you need to get some more of those:
King Crimson (Red - my favorite, Larks' Tongues, Poseidon, Islands, Lizard and all those)
Yes (Relayer, Yessongs, Tales from Topographic Oceans)
Camel (sorry jrowa ^^ ... The Snow Goose, Moonmadness, Mirage)
Caravan (In the Land of Grey and Pink)
Focus (Focus III)
Van der Graaf Generator (Pawn Hearts, Godbluff)
and some more neo-prog
Taal (Mr. Green, Skymind)
Sleep Parade (Things Can Always Change)
and maybe some krautrock by Can, Amon Düül II, Neu! and what they're all called.
i'll second King Crimson - Red and Camel - Mirage
also, Fair to Midland and a band called '3' are considered progressive and are both awesome. I'd also throw in Pink Floyd's Animals too for sure.
i dont care much for 3 either. thanks medigo haha. pretty much everything else on this album is top quality. 6 only has a few great songs, and the rest arent that good.
also look into...
Harmonia - Deluxe
East of Eden - Mercator Projected
Eloy - Ocean
Thirsty Moon - Thirsty Moon
Gentle Giant - Acquiring The Taste
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells
Novalis - Sommerbend
Robert Wyatt - Rock Bottom
Triumvirat - Spartacus
U.K. - Danger Money
then for neo-prog...
Arena - The Visitor
Carptree - Man Made Machine
Frost* - Milliontown
Galahad - Empires Never Lost
Gazpacho - Night
IQ - Dark Matter
Pallas - The Dreams of Men
Pendragon - The Window of Life
The Tangent - A Place in the Queue
Finally someone who loves 4! I do not agree with the 'not a bad track, though'. More Fool Me is pretty weak, but apart from that, SEBTP is a masterpiece. 1,2,10 are also excellent and 8 rules, as every sputnik member knows.
everyone loves 4, nagnarok
Haha, Curt Kirkwood's album Snow at number 3!
