Yotimi Tracks 2010
I know the Track lists aren't as popular as the Album ones but oh well. At least listen to a couple you don't know and tell me how much they suck. |
| 1 | Perfume Genius Mr. Peterson
One of my favorite songs of all time is "Hope There's Someone" by Antony and the Johnsons. This song gives off almost the exact same (almost too intimite) vibe. One of the saddest songs I've ever heard, it tells the tale of Mike Hadreas' affair with his high school teacher - and then the teacher's ultimate suicide - through a simple but perfect piano melody and heart-wrenching vocals. Watching him perform this live is almost too uncomfortable to sit through. |
| 2 | Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti Can't Hear My Eyes
I usually dismiss catchiness for something more artistic or complex, but I'll make an exception here. From the intro and verses' vintage sound to the amazing chorus there's not a dull moment. Add in the sax and the perfect bass compliments during the solo/interludes. Pure Genius. |
| 3 | The Tallest Man on Earth King of Spain
I don't think I need to explain this one. |
| 4 | Lone Ultramarine
Not very known around these parts of the interweb, but this electronic artist knows how to capture a perfect sound. A little light on the songwriting, but still this is the best electronic production I've heard all year. Listen loud with good speakers. |
| 5 | The Knife Colouring of Pigeons
The opera stuff was pretty cool on the album. I mean I wasn't blown away like some people. But when those pounding drums led into this track, that was when I was like "oh yeah. Here's The Knife". Such a huge song. |
| 6 | The National Conversation 16
"Bloodbuzz, OH" was my favorite almost all year. Then someone was like "Nah man, Conversation 16!" And I was like "Yeah you're right." Plus the whole eat your brains thing. |
| 7 | Future Islands Walking Through That Door
Tom Waits goes new wave. Love the vocals. Love the Synths. Love everything about it. |
| 8 | Titus Andronicus A More Perfect
Because it's a really good song with kick-ass guitars. "The Battle of Hampton Roads" is great too, don't get me wrong. But this track's intensity is just what I need when I'm looking for an in-your-face full throttle punk anthem. |
| 9 | Beach House Silver Soul
Victoria Legrand's vocals are Sublime. |
| 10 | Liars No Barrier Fun
Sisterworld kind of sounds like a How-to guide on becoming a serial killer. And this track is the sound of that killer walking through the alley at night looking for someone to strangle. |
| 11 | Emeralds Genetic |
| 12 | Tame Impala Alter Ego |
| 13 | Baths Aminals |
| 14 | The Tallest Man on Earth Burden of Tomorrow
Such a good melody on an album filled with brilliant vocal melodies. |
| 15 | Caribou Kaili |
| 16 | Max Richter Infra 5 |
| 17 | Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse Revenge (Ft. The Flaming Lips)
It's the song on the album with Wayne Coyne, that's why it's good. |
| 18 | Warpaint Undertow
Those backing vocals are actually what stand out for me on this. |
| 19 | Sleigh Bells Infinity Guitars
The last minute of this song destroys almost everything this year. |
| 20 | Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti Round and Round
Best Chorus of the Year. |
| 21 | Noisia Machine Gun |
| 22 | Sufjan Stevens I Want to Be Well |
| 23 | Beach House Walk in the Park |
| 24 | LCD Soundsystem I Can Change |
| 25 | Women Heat Distraction |
| 26 | Guido Tantalized |
| 27 | Cee-Lo Green Forget You
Just kidding it's Fuck You |
| 28 | Arandel In D#1
The album works much better as a whole. But this track stands out as it is the perfect start to the album's movements. |
| 29 | Adam Haworth Stephens Heights of the Diamond |
| 30 | Caribou Odessa |
| 31 | Luke Abbott More Room |
| 32 | Fang Island Daisy
High Five! |

| 35 | The Books A Cold Freezin' Night |
| 36 | Arcade Fire Sprawl II |
| 37 | Japandroids Younger Us |
| 38 | Anamanaguchi My Skateboard Will Go On
So cheesy but I love every second |
