| Bands That Do Complexity Right.
Some bands do complexity for the sake of complexity, others do it because it sounds inventive. This list separates the men from the boys. | | 1 | The Number Twelve Looks Like You

Albums like "The Ghost Ship EP" and "Doppelganger" have some of the most complex, erratic tempos out there. But with their newer albums I feel as if they are being complex for the sake of being complex. | | 5 | Protest the Hero
Between "Kezia" and "A Calculated Use of Sound" Protest had some of the most complex instrumentation out there. If it wasn't for "Fortress" they would be higher up on this list. | |

12.10.08 | Please do not get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with fortress! I like that album a lot, but i my opinion it was a nothing special compared to the other two. You have to remember that they wrote their first album around the age of 14! and then recorded it at 16. thats astounding. I feel as if more progression should have been made but it's as if they took a break from doing anything new and this list is really about inventiveness.
ALSO this list has no opeth or bands like that because I'm just not a fan, I respect their music I just do not listen to it regularly.
Plus, this is my list.
