Australia Day + Bdo = Heaven
Big Day Out yesterday was awesome. Heres what happened. | | 1 | Trial Kennedy
Started off the day with Trial Kennedy i was front row, pretty big crowd for so early in the day. Colour Day Tours and Knife Light went off. | | 2 | Children Collide
Saw the last half of these guys while waiting for Birds of Tokyo, they were decent. | | 3 | Birds of Tokyo
Were really great, front row again, Kenny was in true space cadet form. Wayside and Sillhouettic went off. | | 4 | The Grates
Sat through this crap so i could get fron row for Cog, hate them soo much. Lead singer was good to look at though. | | 5 | Cog
Front row for one of the best sets of the day, im in love with them. Resonate, The Spine and What If? went off. Was a circle pit for about half the set. | | 6 | Lupe Fiasco
Went and saw him so we didnt have to put up with the giant wankfest that is Bullet for my Valentine. On the way there who should we run into but Flynn from Cog, he stopped for a chat and photos n stuff, nice bloke. Lupe was good as well, full band worked well. | | 7 | Pendulum
Left Lupe early to go see a bit of Pendulum, on the way there i walked straight into Zeke from Mammal, he stopped for a chat as well, told us to watch out for his new hat in their set. Pendulum were cool also, crowd was going off. Oh and we met the Trial Kennedy boys watching Pendulum as well. | | 8 | The Drones
Went and watched The Drones' set so we could get front row for Mammal. They were surprisingly good, having not heard much of their stuff before. | | 9 | Mammal
Front row, set of the day, right in front of Zeke who was in fine form. Before their set he came and shook everyone in the front rows hands and thanked us for coming, legend. The set was awesome, during Inciting and Hell Yeah Lucius from Cog came and drummed as well. Maximum crowd involvment. The Majority and Smash The Pinata were nuts. | | 10 | The Butterfly Effect
Just wow. Clint was in awesome touch. Surprisingly Window and the Watcher went off, as did One Second of Insanity and A Slow Descent. They closed with Worlds on Fire, which completley made my day. | | 11 | Fantomas
Caught the last half hour of Fantomas after TBE, they were really cool also. Very weird. | | 12 | Dropkick Murphys
Saw the first few songs of the Dropkick Murphys from the back, crowd looked like they were having fun. | | 13 | Neil Young
Saw the last half of Neil Young, was great. Covered a Beatles song to end the set. | |

01.26.09 | Nar, after the TBE n Mammal double i was stuffed so we just stood at the back of neil n dropkicks, after that couldnt really be bothered so we figured we'd beat the crowds for the train home. | DaveyBoy
