| Crap Albums Of 2009
Not neccasserily a "worst of 2009" list, but a list of Albums that were really poor under the circumstances. Read deions for reasoning | 1 | | All Time Low Nothing Personal
I listened to this having being led to beliee that it was "top quality pop-punk." What I found was an album that sounded more like Metro Station than anything, it's fair to say I was dissapointed. The choruses that try so so hard to be catchy simply aren't, and the glittery production all but hides the albums few redeeming qualities. | 2 | | Chris Cornell Scream
Chris Cornell, singer in legendary grunge band Soundgarden goes R n B. It's as bad as it sounds. It's easy to point a finger at producer Timbaland for his generic beats and shiny production, but ultimately the blame must lie with Cornell, for writing such woeful songs and laughably poor lyrics. | 3 | | The View Which Bitch?
I found it baffling that this album got so much praise from critics. Two slightly above average singles aside, the record is a mess. I wasn't a fan of their first either but it was certainly better than this. | 4 | | The Enemy Music For The People
I enjoyed their first album, and they are a good live band, so this second record came as a big dissappointment for me. In reaching for arenas, their sound became bloated, sucking out all the energy and urgency that made their debut a success. The worst aspect of the album though are the blatent cases of plagarism, which at times are laughably obvious. | 5 | | Rx Bandits Mandala
One of the albums that was recieved really enthusiastically by sputnik that I just can't get my head around. I just can't find anything special here, and I found a lot of it quite dull. For me, this was one of the most forgettable albums I heard this year. | 6 | | Muse The Resistance
Without a doubt the biggest dissappointment of 2009. The singles were underwhelming, especially Uprising, but within the album lay far greater horrors, namely I Belong To You and Undisclosed Desires. The album wasn't awful, but for the first time, Muses ludicrousness went too far, as shown on monumental flop Exogenesis. | 7 | | Editors In This Light And On This Evening
I enjoyed their first two albums, and the lead single Papillon, despite being extremely repetative was promising. The rest of the album though was terrible, with the band trying, and failing to embrace electronics. The album's flaws are there for all to see live, where its songs are painfully boring, crumbling in comparison to the bands earlier work. Also you know there's a problem when the first song - little more than an intro is among the "highlights" of your album. | 8 | | Killswitch Engage Killswitch Engage [II]
It's a long time since I've heard an album that bored me as much as Killswitch Engages third. Every song was painfully generic, with no outstanding features whatsoever. I wasn't expecting much but this was worse than I had feared. | 9 | | Green Day 21st Century Breakdown
I was one of few that praised this upon release, and I still believe that it is ultimately a good album. It could, however, have been so much better. The concept of the album and the lyrics are simply ridiculous, it's about 20 minutes too long, and many of the songs are essentially re-writes of Green Day classics. A highly flawed return. | 10 | | Little Boots Hands
Having being haled as this years best new artist by pretty much everyone in the UK, I felt I had to give her album a listen. Remedy is one of the best p[op songs of the year, but it stands out like a sore thumb among the rest of the material, which was bland, overproduced and generic. Her follow-up must be better or she is destined to be forgotten. | |

12.29.09 | good list, except that's not killswitch's third album | AliW1993
12.29.09 | thanks + that was a typo, fixed | Knott-
12.29.09 | i enjoyed 1. 3 was a lot better than their previous stuff. 9 is horrible, everything wrong with music. 7 is boring. 6 is boring. | Inveigh
12.29.09 | Hm, I haven't heard many of these, but I agree with 2, 6 and 9. What I heard from 5 was pretty good, and I think 8 (which is their fifth album) is a great album when you view it as a pop/alt/metal album -- not as a metalcore disc. The songwriting rivals that of pop music, and that's saying something for a metal band. | intothepit83
12.29.09 | the sad thing about muse is that if this was their first album, we'd all be praising them. unfortunately, though, it isnt, but you can't blame us for having such high expectations. it's their own damn fault | moonlapsevertigo
12.29.09 | I actually liked the new Muse album.
All Time Low is just awful though. Can't stand them. So many people at my school went to go see them in concert and so I made fun of them, to the response of "WHAT?!?! You dont like All Time Low?!?! They're SO good." | Knott-
12.29.09 | They're not SO good. They're just fun.
I think if that Muse album were their first it'd still only be a 3/3.5 consensus. | luci
12.29.09 | Agree with you for the most part on Mandala. Some quality songs but the album is a snoozefest. | johnunderstood
12.29.09 | Very accurate list with the exception of RX Bandits. I thought Mandala was quite good. | ninjuice
12.29.09 | So excellent musicianship, interesting songwriting and (what I'm pretty dang sure is) a unique blend of ska/reggae and progressive rock isn't special? | AliW1993
12.29.09 | not to my ears apparently | Bandido
12.29.09 | Ah hell no for number 5. That album wreaks of brilliancy. But I agree with the rest of your list | Prophet178
12.29.09 | 5 rules wtf. | iranscam
12.29.09 | I will agree on #5, pretty boring. | bloc
12.29.09 | great list | handoman
12.29.09 | uhh the new rxb rules but it is probably their worst album | myhigherpie

12.30.09 | whoever told you 1 was "top quality pop-punk" needs to be taken out back and shot in the head | Fapper

12.30.09 | 6 and 8 were disappointing but still enjoyable, I like 9. | sniper
12.30.09 | My list would definitely include the fall of troy. crapfest. | wings123
12.08.10 | maybe "nothing personal" was not all time lows best album, but it doesnt deserve to be compared to such crap of metro station | wings123
12.30.10 | green day doesnt deserve to be on her either | North0House
12.30.10 | This dude at my school who thought he was so cool cuz he listened to Rise Against and Saosin told me to listen to All Time Low because they were an," Amazing band." I listened to them, and they sucked so hard. His music tastes sucked over all, it turns out. |
