12.01.09 | Tearz is like number 3 for me... |
KILL
12.01.09 | cream needs to be higher seriously but nice 1st |
illmitch
12.01.09 | raekwon - only built 4 cuban linx
gza - liquid swords
are the two obvious choices
don't tread too far into the realm of wu-tang side projects. they have some seriously terrible material. |
KieranVandRakim
12.01.09 | 9 and 10 are 1 and 2 for me |
LordSalohcin21
12.01.09 | 1, 9, 4, 10, 5, 7, 6, 2, 3, 12, 11, 8 (i mean, its the same song without the funny skit and a different beat) |
somberlain
12.01.09 | what illmitch said and ghostface-ironman or supreme clientele |
igloodude
12.01.09 | As a side note, I already have the two cuban linx CDs and Liquid Swords.
Also, illmitch: I'm pretty sure you're my brother's roommate at KU. |
Tits McGee
12.01.09 | bottom 3 would be top 3 for me
really difficult album to rank though |
illmitch
12.01.09 | whoooaaa, are you matt's brother? that's crazy man, welcome to sputnik! although i guess you joined a while before me |
irishmanshibby
12.01.09 | protect ya neck should be higher. chessboxin is 1 tho |
TMobotron
12.03.09 | Agreed about chessboxin'. You should check out DJ Muggs Vs GZA-Grandmasters too, and you should also check out Gravediggaz-6 Feet Deep. The latter's not really a solo project but its a rap group with RZA and it kills. But illmitch and somberlain hit it on the head too, so get what you dont have there. |
illmitch
12.03.09 | im a huge Ghostface fan - OB4CL2 notwithstanding, i think he's easily the most relevant out of the Wu-Tang Clan in modern ihp hop
but Supreme Clientele, while an amazing album, doesn't mesh as well with the gritty minimalism of 36 Chambers, and on Iron Man he hasn't yet attained the wacked-out surrealist train-of-thought flow that we see on Supreme and later that makes him such a relevant rapper today
just my 2 cents |
iarescientists
12.03.09 | krazy connections itt |
igloodude
12.04.09 | I'm a huge fan of the GZA...on what albums (besides 36 chambers and liquid swords) does he tear it up? I want to hear some more stuff on the level of his verse on Bring Da Ruckus or Clan In Da Front. Is he on-point on the DJ Muggs collaboration? |
illmitch
12.04.09 | the dj muggs album is pretty good, havent listened to it extensively though.
he has plenty of fire stuff on Wu-Tang Forever, and after that i'd recommend his other solo albums, first Beneath the Remains and then Pro Tools...haven't heard anything else from him |
KieranVandRakim
12.04.09 | dj muggs vs. gza is amazing |
igloodude
12.04.09 | Thankyouthankyouthankyou so much for the recs, everyone. I'll have to check all of these out. |
illmitch
12.04.09 | oh, and if you like the minimalistic sound of 36 chambers, Mobb Deep - The Infamous is a MUST. id get it before you get any other wu-tang group album. i might even get it before you get liquid swords or cuban linx. |
igloodude
12.05.09 | Actually, I already have The Infamous (ironically enough, I got it from my brother's computer, and I'm pretty sure he got it from you). I haven't listened to it much yet, but I'll check it out. But, yeah, the minimalistic sound is part of what I like about 36 Chambers. |
Yazz_Flute
12.05.09 | I love the SOAD collaboration of Shame. Serj dropping the N-bomb 332545 times = priceless. |
ECRbubs
12.05.09 | C.R.E.A.M. and 10-12 should be higher imo but those first two are so damn good. And Method Man. My least favorite is 7th Chamber Pt. 2 just because it has the same raps as the other one and it got stuck on the end of the album so it seems like a bonus. |
Treska
12.05.09 | nice list but i really think tearz should be a lot higher.
shame on a nigga is an awesome song. but method man should be a bit higher too |
Fort23
12.05.09 | yo meth and odb's first albums are the most similar to this trust me. Liquid Swords Cuban Linx Iron Man Supreme are great and you should get thim, but meth and odb's first two shits were the grimiest. |
Treska
12.05.09 | odb's first album was mediocre at best. its all written by the gza anyway. the only good song is shuimmy shimmy yeah |
Treska
12.05.09 | typo there
shimmy shimmy yeah |
Fort23
12.05.09 | thats neither here nor there its just more similar to 36 chambers |
illmitch
12.05.09 | its also pretty dissimilar to 36 chambers in that its not a good record and 36 chambers is an amazing record |
Fort23
12.05.09 | did you just say that return to the 36 chambers is not a good album? |
illmitch
12.05.09 | its not a bad album, its ridiculously inconsistent and odbs rapping is nothing to write home for. has a few dope songs but not enough to make it good |
Fort23
12.05.09 | Shit i was hoping you'd be meaner. I can't really argue. It's a good album to get zoOted to... |
