03.22.13 | Great list dude. Great to see 7, 14, 16 and 20.
A few suggestions:
Gracious - This is... Gracious!!
Steve Hillage - Fish Rising
Procol Harum - Shine on Brightly
The Moody Blues - On the Threshold of a Dream |
Jethro42
03.22.13 | Come back soon, ViperAces, I'll cover the list with some song links all over it. Ahh The Snow Goose!
@Jamie, Thanks buddy. I'm gonna wait before adding them. Some of your recs might be considered as honorable mentions, and some others are gonna make it. |
CK
03.22.13 | I wouldn't call 8 unknown at all |
Jethro42
03.22.13 | maybe not, but with only 19 votes, it passes under the radar. |
MO
03.22.13 | fuck yea jethro
taal is so good |
JamieTwort
03.22.13 | @Jethro: Thinking about it, that Moody Blues album I suggested probably isn't that unknown, it just seems incredibly overlooked and underrated here on Sputnik. Elsewhere it's quite well known and highly rated. |
Jethro42
03.22.13 | yeah MO, Taal are so original, so innovative! Cheers!
@Jamie, this is the kind of albums I'm looking for. Thanks a lot. |
JamieTwort
03.22.13 | No probelm.
Never heard of 1, 11 and 19, need to check those out. I'm particularly interested in 11. |
Jethro42
03.22.13 | @ Jamie,I gave you 2 Taal' links for the price of one. After Crying are complex and moody. Sometimes very dark yet beautiful, with a calm atmosphere provided by cellos and violins among moody keyboards and guitars. You can also find ELP influences here and there. Solaris are for Jethro Tull fans, so check out both. |
JamieTwort
03.22.13 | Thanks for the links and info bro.
"Solaris are for Jethro Tull fans"
Well I'd better make them a priority then ;) |
Jethro42
03.22.13 | @JT,I just added the entire album' link for Solaris. As for your recs, I only added Procol Harum to the list, cos it's the only album I know from the bunch. I heard good things about Gracious (you recd me that one once, but I never got around to it yet). Steve Hillage is a great guitarist, but I only heard him with Gong and Soft Machine I think, and all like the susmentioned, Moody Blues stands as an honorable mention. |
JamieTwort
03.22.13 | Cool. I'm pretty sure you'll dig that Gracious album and also that Hillage album (his solo stuff is really underrated imo). |
JamieTwort
03.22.13 | Major props for adding 26 and 27, Jethro. |
