More digs from this year. This year is shaping up to be pretty mediocre. I still haven't found an album that tops Ea's "Au Ellai" after 150 albums...
Abu Nawas Rhapsody
4.0 - Jazz Fusion/World Music from Tunisia. At last, another 4 star release. This one is a very peculiar, eclectic release with catchy jazz explorations and indigestible screeching of the vocalist. Highly recommended album, combing the best of traditional arabic music and jazz fusion.
How I Got Over
3.5 - East Coast Hip Hop/Jazz Rap/Conscious Hip Hop from Philadelphia, USA. Wonderful hip hop, my favourite hip hop album of the year.
My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky
3.5 - Experimental Rock from USA. Ranges from ok to amazing, overall great album.
|4||The Howling Void|
Shadows Over the Cosmos
3.5 - Funeral Doom Metal from USA. These guys are really solid. Their 2009 release was unexpectedly good and this release is even better, needs more love.
|5||An Autumn for Crippled Children|
3.5 - Atmospheric Black Metal from Netherlands.
Heirs to Thievery
3.5 - Deathgrind/Grindcore from USA. So fucking good...
3.0 - Electronic/Art Pop from Norway. Was so close to being the "Lovetune for Vaccuum" of 2010. This album is quirky, beautiful and quite disturbing. There are two standouts, "It's All Gone Tomorrow" and "The Brothel', and the rest are solid. If the rest of the tracks were like those highlights, we wouldve had a new best album of 2010....
|8||Blood of Kingu|
Sun in the House of the Scorpion
3.0 - Black Metal from Ukraine. Angry BM that isn't derivative.
3.0 - Neofolk from France. Pretty awesome.
|10||Nas & Damian Marley|
3.0 - East Coast Hip Hop/Conscious Hip Hop/Reggae from USA. I didn't like this at first...but now its enjoyable
3.0 - Atmospheric Black Metal/Black Metal from Germany.
Your Future Our Clutter
3.0 - Post-punk from UK.
|13||More Than Life|
Love Let Me Go
3.0 - Hardcore Punk from UK.
3.0 - Folk Rock/Psychedelic Rock from USA.
